He tried to have the special counsel fired because he knew he didn't have him in his pocket. It was such a bad idea that his White House counsel said he would quit before carrying out the order.

He ordered it. The man he ordered to do it would not. That Trump was not successful is immaterial. The fact that he attempted to stop the investigation for at least the second time, really the 3rd, is the end of the ball game. Stick a fork in him. Trump is done.

So they appointed a special counsel to reveal the fact that Trump wanted to fire the future special counsel. That’s pretty wild.

What’s funny about this is that it was purported to be on the basis of Muellers conflict of interest. Which if this report is true, would then certainly establish a conflict of interest and Mueller would have to step aside. Which of course would make Trumps non-firing actually successful.

Nunes was a little slow on his attempt to discredit the investigation. The memo is becoming increasingly irrelevant. It's looking like the home stretch.

It's not complicated. Trump asked Comey to stop investigating. He didn't. Trump fired him. Trump has repeatedly tried to undermine the FBI leadership because its not loyal to him, as opposed to the country. Trump ordered Mueller fired.

The grand jury is going to indict Trump.

I am assuming the news report is true. If it is, Trump is done. Pence will have to pardon him.

If it's not true then that will be bad for the NYT.

My money is on it being true. But I'm open to it being wrong reporting.

The indictment hasn't been filed. The remaining task is whether Trump lies on top of it.

I would assume after this news has come out that Trump will refuse to be interviewed. Mueller will subpoena him. He will challenge it and we are off to federal court.

Meanwhile, the 36 percent is going to have to choose. Stick with their buddy, or admit he's a charlatan and fooled them, too.
