Trump's new Cabinet - Guesses & Nominations

If all he does is get the focus off of reading lists, and back on readiness, he’ll have done something positive.
Appears his highest operational responsibility was leading a Platoon. On the civilian side he was 2nd or 3rd in charge at a non-profit. Now he's charged with leading the world's great military. I pray to God he gets it right - the future of our country quite literally hangs in the balance.

I hope he leverages Generals he trusts and align with his vision.

I'm not sure if there is some rule. It might depend on what their mission is and how it's funded. I really don't know but your know there will be pushback because these guys will find cuts.
I can't imagine what kind of 'rule' there would be that wouldn't be easily circumvented. "They were just studying the issue, and came up with some suggestions. As president, I also read Volnation, and saw some pretty good ideas there that I will now implement".

It's context. Musk is a great inventory. Vivek is a screeching buffon at every level.

Neither is remotely qualified to direct how a government operates.
What makes one "qualified"? It seems that all those folks that are "qualified" to direct how a government operates have run up multi trillion dollar deficits and debt, so I say let's give the businessmen that had to startup, run and continue profitable business lest they have to go work for someone else a chance. "Qualification to direct a government" seems like a very low bar, and I would say that 99.99999% of those that have met that standard would trip over parking lot striping.

Actually the ones who have run up the debt and deficit are our elected leaders, not appointed cabinet members

What Lloyd did was inexcusable and he has been unimpressive since his time as CENTCOM.

But that has nothing to do with with Hegseth's lack of apparent qualifications for one of the most difficult cabinet jobs.

What are the qualifications?

I will never understand the right's hard-on for Israel. American Jews voted overwhelmingly for Harris yet many on the right will cheer as each cabinet pick is another pro-zionist muppet.

He's a solid dude with a good résumé, especially when it comes to working with veterans and the military. ****ing light years ahead of that idiot Lloyd Austin.

It's pretty clear that Trump is taking a blowtorch to the establishment way of doing things in DC, and is not going to repeat the mistakes he made in 2016. Which is what makes the Rubio selection such a a head scratcher. Gotta be his strong support of Israel that put him over the top.

This is why the left is terrified of the Hegseth pick.

Rubio hasn't been confirmed

A bureaucracy... to combat bureaucracy.

Brilliant!

The work is to be completed by July 2026. If the department continues beyond that point and starts expanding, then I'll agree with you.

And putting outsiders like Elon and Vivek in charge, people who understand efficiency and waste in business, means that this isn't going to be just another typical DC "bureaucracy".

Conservatives believe the military exist to protect, defend, and break sh*t when necessary.

Libs believe the military should conform to their ideology, be a showcase for DEI, progress in the trans movement, and other loony leftist BS.

This isn't even close to accurate for either side

I did not know there was a deadline, that's clever.

On the flip side, this sounds like they have no power and is just another way to air grievances against government. They'll do a report, screech about all the things noted in the last few pages of this thread, testify to a GOP Congress (note the 2026 date), and the GOP will use that to keep MAGA all in a tizzy for the mid-terms.

Rather obvious. Once again, the GOP using the levers of government to further provoke its base.

Brilliant politics.

Do you think it is DJT who is the genius running circles around the DNC or a specific member of his team?

It may be Melania. She spends half her time revising the divorce agreement and property settlement so she has some additional time.
