Trump's new Cabinet - Guesses & Nominations

I did not know there was a deadline, that's clever.

On the flip side, this sounds like they have no power and is just another way to air grievances against government. They'll do a report, screech about all the things noted in the last few pages of this thread, testify to a GOP Congress (note the 2026 date), and the GOP will use that to keep MAGA all in a tizzy for the mid-terms.

Rather obvious. Once again, the GOP using the levers of government to further provoke its base.

That is ridiculous speculation on your part. If it had been a couple of "experienced, qualified" DC lifers placed in charge then I would completely agree with you. I don't believe that guys like Elon and Vivek are there to f***k around and waste their own time and our money - that's a government employee thing.

It may be Melania. She spends half her time revising the divorce agreement and property settlement so she has some additional time.

Just kills you that a classy, accomplished woman is the First Lady instead of an insecure hag that needed a pretend degree to provide herself with a "title", doesn't it?

Can you be specific? If you mean negotiate an end to hostilities whereby Russia withdraws and offers compensation for its aggression, perhaps so. If you mean Trump tells Zelensky he is cutting off all help and that his only way out is to give Putin 20 % of his country, mmmmmm.... no.

Its definitely a proxy war, but it was started by Putin. If every time Putin invaded a country we debated the relative worth of helping that country out based on whether we could find fault with their leadership, well, might as well concede to him all of Europe.
And the whole war could have been avoided by a deal in which NATO agreed that Ukraine was not a candidate for membership. I greatly despise Putin for starting the war and see him as a war criminal. But I do see the paranoia resulting from the fear of a hostile military alliance setting up shop just a couple of hundred miles from my nation’s capital city.
But the neocons and contractors wanted their war so we got one; know full well that Ukraine would never be able to outlast Russia and must ultimately lose. But a lot of already rich people got to further line their pockets at the expense of avoidable suffering for the Ukrainian people. And meanwhile; the greatest winner in the whole sad debacle is China who has sat and watched its two greatest adversaries spend their arsenals and fortunes without losing anything themselves in the process.

Trump has pulled off some crazy FP stuff before. getting into NK, and getting the middle east to discuss peace with Israel and alliances against Iran would be at this level of crazy imo.

I have no idea what the peace treaty would look like. I doubt there is compensation from Russia. I could see there being some land swapping happening. Ukraine gets back the mainland but Russia keeps Crimea. Maybe its just a frozen border.

allegedly the stick up Putin's butt is Ukraine joining NATO. so if Trump is able to remove that from the table, Putin might be more amenable.

I also pointed out in the Ukraine thread, just because US aid is cut off, doesn't mean the rest of the West doesn't step up, with the US selling them even more arms to offset the additional drain of supporting Ukraine. Ukraine has also recently began looking to sell drones, they are apparently making so many they can't even use them all, so its not like Ukraine is in the same shape it was in 2014.

And the greatest governor in the entire country to boot.

Still a better pick than Jeff Sessions was 😳
Oh I have to disagree. The Keebler Elf was at least qualified he just had too much baggage (of his own creation) and wound up sidelined and handing power to the already installed DOJ management whom had zero intention of falling in line. Gaetz has zero qualifications showing he is fit for this task. Behind SECDEF and SoS this is probably the third most important appointee. And it’s Gaetz… lol.

Gaetz’s history of buffoonery is mocked universally in this forum for good reason.
