Because she’s a woman or because she’s actually more than qualified?
I'd prefer to see someone in that job who has previously worked at a high level within a WH. She appears to be a capable political advisor, but I've always thought that a WH Chief of Staff ought to know a lot going into the job about the daily management of things.
I get that many of you decry the institutions of government, but at that level I think it has to be less about ideology or just "winning" and at least some significant part of it has to be about making sure we don't accidentally start WW III or that Trump does not send markets tanking with some off the cuff, not thought through comment, about anything from interest rates to tariffs.
And don't for one second tell me that he won't do that as history proves otherwise.
Oh the irony! No new wars under Trump and as soon as he's elected Hamas throttles down, Putin declares he wants to negotiate on peace in Ukraine and Xi acknowledges his election. If Obama and Fauci hadn't actively experimented with gain of function in Ukrainian biolabs Putin wouldn't have had to go into Ukraine. We'd do the same damn thing if China or Iran had labs in Mexico or Canada.I'd prefer to see someone in that job who has previously worked at a high level within a WH. They are not, but I would welcome the choice of Tulsi as Secretary of Defense. RFK is a green energy guy as well, but he's being tapped to help in the health area. Neither would have a voice in the energy sector, but if they are chosen it would be taking advantage of their strengths.
Both are people who I trust far more than the DC bureaucrat lifers he trusted in his first go-round, "Republicans" who stabbed him in the back the first chance they got. What a concept - choosing competent people for areas where they are strong as opposed to their gender, skin color, or sexual preference.

If you, meaning them, have that poor of judgement to support those policies then you have zero business anywhere near the seats of power. They are not, but I would welcome the choice of Tulsi as Secretary of Defense. I like Tulsi but seriously, what has she run before? She is not qualified as Sec Def. Far too easy to flim flam her under the layers of paperwork. I want someone who knows where bodies are buried there and how things operate. I would hope that Lt. Col. Stuart Scheller is made an assistant or deputy sec def though.
No, not at all. Just saying opinion is not uniform.
I've already given Trump credit here for picking the first woman chief of staff.
Not sure if it has been mentioned in the thread, but a great Secretary of State choice would be Ric Grenell, who was Trumps Acting Director of National Intelligence in his first term and who is more than qualified for this post.
And before anyone else says it, yes, he would even fit the left's DEI standards as an openly gay man.
Just to show how the news works, especially CBS and perfect hand placement Norah.
The day he appointed her, I'm sitting at home watching the local news and then CBS News comes on, not a word about how she's the first, not one single blurb nothing other than he appointed her.
Now flip that around they would be doing a 30 minute special about the first woman in this position if it was a democrat who did it.
