Trump's Taxes

Curious... do you not hold people to their word? Trump said he'd release his taxes. So, obviously *cough* he has no problem with us seeing it, as past Presidents have done.

If he's got nothing to hide:

(1) Why did he say he'd release it?; and
(2) Why not release it now?

Don't give me his standard bullsh*t response "I'm being audited" horse crap. NOTHING prevents him from releasing his taxes while being audited.

That goes out to the rest of you donkey drone Trump nut huggers, too.

Im hardly a donkey drone Trump but hugger, but I’ll give it a go. I can only speak for myself and why I would not release mine.

Every opportunity the media gets they go after him. They are eager to keep him on defense. I think he’s learned that over the last few years.

I wouldn’t give them any more ammunition. Hence, I’d hang on to the tax returns and enjoy watching them screech about it.

Then why'd he offer in the first place?

Because he didn't anticipate the magnitude of the epidemic.

Trump Derangement Syndrome that's infected low information Democrats.

SMH.

"Before Trump announced his candidacy for president, he repeatedly promised to release his tax returns, making such pledges in 2011, 2014 ("absolutely") and 2015.[1][2] During his presidential campaign, Trump first said he would release his returns after they were "worked on.”[3] From 2016 to 2019, Trump claimed that, because the returns were being audited, he could not make them public, but would do so. No law actually prevents tax returns from being released due to an audit, as emphasized by the commissioner of internal revenue.[4][5] Trump later said that voters were not interested in his returns; that "there's nothing to learn from them"; and that his tax rate is "none of your business".[2]"

Before the Nov 2016 election Trump said that he wasn't going to release his tax returns, but still won the election.

Now he's just giving his obsessed opponents (which includes the MSM) the rope to hang themselves with. He plays them like a fiddle. They think that they have a gotcha scenario and continue to look like the fools that they are by pushing it to the SCOTUS. They tried to block him from the 2020 ballot in California and exposed themselves as the partisan political hacks that they are. I think that he'll release them after they've gotten themselves worked into an even soapier lather. He can release them before the 2022 midterms so that they can chew on yet another nothing burger. Well played.

He is just messing with you all bc no one actually cares about this issue

You think Trump has evaded paying taxes and the IRS hasn't caught him?
The irony of what they are alleging is delicious. Trump - the imbecile - is smart enough to hide millions of dollars of bribes (or whatever they think is there) in plain sight on his tax returns. He's a criminal, but would properly fill out his returns for all to see his wrongdoings.

Good point here

IMO Sekulow is going too far asking for temporary Presidential immunity. It reflects an arrogance of power. I don't see the Court going for that and indeed it may give one or two GOP appointees an excuse to side the other way.

But, as I learned long ago, you cannot always assume from oral argument questions that you are seeing the judges' real opinions in them.
Disagree. The point was never for Sekulow’s argument to win. I think it’s a foil that provides a third option. It was intended to address Roberts’ institutionalism by something akin to moving the oVernon window.

That's such a ridiculous stance.
If true, Trump is pathetic.
If not true, Trump is pathetic.
There is no way to spin it. He repeatedly looked the American people in the eye and said he would release the returns.
He knew at the time that he would never release them and he also knew a large segment of his targeted followers are simple minded and gullible.
He was brilliant in that particular assessment. Hell, some are still trying to defend and justify his blatant lies.

Was this an autocorrect thing? Did you mean to type Overton window? That's the closest I could find that would have, what I thought you were meaning to say.

That's something that fits luther to a "tee."

The ol' Trump is playing 3D chess fictional narrative.

Let's just assume you're correct... that Donald is this brilliant savant who is manipulating everyone. Answer this: If providing his taxes is "no big deal" and he has nothing to hide, then by failing to provide them, he is wasting our (READ: taxpayers) money. Not my money mind you. Not Democrats' money. You and me... OUR taxpayer dollars in fighting this legally all the way to SCOTUS.

So, in reality, your argument is self-defeating: You argue that he has nothing to hide, yet he wastes taxpayer money fighting it.

No wonder you love a dictator. Thinking is hard, isn't it?

I’m talking about general public.... all I ever hear is OMG.... shut up about his d$mn taxes.
Or even easier, Trump could just release them as he continually promised.
According to you guys, no one cares and they would contain nothing of significance.
Trump could keep his word (for a change) and the issue could be put to rest.
So again, why is Trump refusing to do what he continually promised?
You guys have to be smart enough to realize there is no good answer to that question. (I think....I hope)

I don’t care either way as it has no effect on my life..... I just think he is playing his game like he always.... getting the other side to fight and argue over something that will be a big nothing burger when it’s revealed.

Yep, Agree. The left doesn't understand how taxes work anyway. Every write off or deferral would be seen by the left as Trump not paying his fair share. Screw'em all.

I have no idea if the man was laundering money for Russia, but you know as well as I do that if they get his and find nothing (other than he pays very little taxes), the focus will turn to his children's taxes because he must be hiding what he is doing illegal there.

Lets say he release them and they show that he pays his taxes and even gives to charity, would it change how you feel about him?
