Trump's Taxes

Was this an autocorrect thing? Did you mean to type Overton window? That's the closest I could find that would have, what I thought you were meaning to say.

That's something that fits luther to a "tee."
Yes. “Overton window” sorry.

If it’s a binary choice between somewhat limiting congress’s power and not limiting their power at all then I think (Absent hindsight from the argument) it’s harder to find five votes for limiting.

Structuring the arguments to give a media foil makes it too nuanced for consumers of drive by media to digest. Same concept as Barr’s 4 page summary becoming the narrative and Mueller’s 400+ page report getting sent to the shredder.

Without Juxtaposition between Sekulow’s and DOJ, the headline is “SCOTUS ignores precedent. Sides with Trump.” Now, headlines are “SCOTUS looks poised to reject Trump argument.” Second headline is much more appealing to the Chief, who they expected to be the swing vote.

Before the Nov 2016 election Trump said that he wasn't going to release his tax returns, but still won the election.

Now he's just giving his obsessed opponents (which includes the MSM) the rope to hang themselves with. He plays them like a fiddle. They think that they have a gotcha scenario and continue to look like the fools that they are by pushing it to the SCOTUS. They tried to block him from the 2020 ballot in California and exposed themselves as the partisan political hacks that they are. I think that he'll release them after they've gotten themselves worked into an even soapier lather. He can release them before the 2022 midterms so that they can chew on yet another nothing burger. Well played.
That is not true. Before the November 2016 Presidential election, candidate Donald Trump said repeatedly that he wanted to release his tax returns and that he WOULD eventually release them, but he couldn't yet, because he was under an audit by the Internal Revenue Service. This excuse proved to be nothing more than a delay tactic on Trump's part, however. Trump maintained this position even though there is nothing about being under an IRS audit which prohibits someone from making their returns available for public record. In 1992, billionaire businessman H. Ross Perot, was also under audit by the IRS while running for President of the United States, and yet he still released his tax returns for public review. The lengths which Trump and his legal team have gone through to prevent his returns from ever being made public, just serve to demonstrate that he never actually intended to release his returns in the first place. The whole "I'm under audit," excuse was a charade. Trump isn't the master, genius troll that you want to portray him as. Trump is just a liar. Plain and simple.

Or even easier, Trump could just release them as he continually promised.
According to you guys, no one cares and they would contain nothing of significance.
Trump could keep his word (for a change) and the issue could be put to rest.
So again, why is Trump refusing to do what he continually promised?
You guys have to be smart enough to realize there is no good answer to that question. (I think....I hope)

Why did people lose their Dr when President Obama said they could keep their Dr? Keeping your Dr is way more important to people than seeing someone else's tax returns.

I don’t care either way as it has no effect on my life..... I just think he is playing his game like he always.... getting the other side to fight and argue over something that will be a big nothing burger when it’s revealed.
Fight and argue all the way to the SC. Very presidential........MAGA
(And that's the best argument Trumpers have......lol)

That's such a ridiculous stance.
If true, Trump is pathetic.
If not true, Trump is pathetic.
There is no way to spin it. He repeatedly looked the American people in the eye and said he would release the returns.
He knew at the time that he would never release them and he also knew a large segment of his targeted followers are simple minded and gullible.
He was brilliant in that particular assessment. Hell, some are still trying to defend and justify his blatant lies.

Bloomberg has taken the same stance that he won’t release his personal tax returns. No screeching about that tho.

But ultimately when it comes to personal tax returns...

Ross Perot lost. He has proved you incompetent tools wrong at every turn for over 3 years.

It takes two to fight and argue . Hard to blame one when the other is screeching so loud to force a man to show his taxes . Smells like a lot of crying over nothing to me .

I have no idea if the man was laundering money for Russia, but you know as well as I do that if they get his and find nothing (other than he pays very little taxes), the focus will turn to his children's taxes because he must be hiding what he is doing illegal there.

Lets say he release them and they show that he pays his taxes and even gives to charity, would it change how you feel about him?
If he would have released them freely, it would have changed how I view him.
If he came out now and said "for the sake of the country and since I did promise, I've decided to go ahead and release them" it would change the way I view him.

98.5% did keep their doctor. So it was largely a true statement.
Trump's promise was 100% a lie.
Big difference.

Did Bloomberg continually promise the American public he would release them?
If Trump would have said "hell no, I'm not releasing my taxes" from the beginning, I would have a totally different perspective.

They're trying to force a man to keep his promise?
Smells like a blatant and habitual liar to me.

It would change things if he did release his returns of his own free will. That whole nonsense about "I would release my returns ... but I'm under audit," looks so ridiculous now. The truth is, he NEVER wanted to release his tax returns.

Probably so.

Is he still under audit?
