I've always held politicians to the same standard.
It's the whole continuum concept.
Trump is below the line of acceptability.
Having the same standard is what led to me rejecting Trump from the beginning.
"Barry" did eventually release the long-form version of his birth certificate and it was Donald Trump who was pushing for it. How ironic. I guess Trump's insistence on transparency doesn't apply to himself? He's just pretty much taking a move out of BHO's play book. Barry could have released his birth certificate when questioned. Instead he withheld doing so because it was more valuable to build up political capital while his opponents kept digging their hole deeper. Wasn't it the Tea Party that was pushing for it? I'm not sure, did he ever come up with the college admissions record request? Was Obama also pathetic, or do you give him a pass? How many times did Barry repeatedly looked the American people in the eye and say that they'll be able to keep their doctor?
What I don't remember is Obama continually promising the American public that he would release something and then refusing to do so.
I remember Trump calling for them for years. Kept promising big things and never delivered.Do you remember the Leftist media obsessively harassing him to come up with his birth certificate? Pepperidge Farm doesn't either.
What about his college records? Was Barry transparent with those?
I remember Donald Trump persistently prodding Barack Obama to come up with his birth certificate and I also remember Obama going on The Oprah Winfrey Show and actually doing it.Do you remember the Leftist media obsessively harassing him to come up with his birth certificate? It was done... and it was done of his own free will and largely because none other than Donald Trump was making a big deal out of it. But I guess transparency is just for other people to abide by, right Donald? Why are you using the word "eventually" instead of 2011, more than 4 years after he was a candidate?
Donald Trump was bringing up the subject of Barack Obama's birth certificate during his frequent interviews on Fox News in 2011, and Trump was also tweeting about it regularly. Barack Obama's birth certificate was very much Trump's obsession in 2011. Trump even said that he had hired private investigators to look into Obama's place of birth. Trump even went as far as to say that these investigators "can't believe what they're finding," in Hawaii. Trump even teased that he would be holding a press conference to disclose what his investigators had uncovered "in two weeks". Alas, no such press conference was ever held. Was the right wing media harassing him at every press conference or was he spoon fed softball questions at those things while sticking to his prepared scripts with his responses?
It's not like Barack Obama was asked to present his birth certificate on the first day of his campaign in 2007. "Birther-ism" didn't become a hot-button topic until Donald Trump started aggressively promoting it on Fox News talk shows and on Twitter in 2011. Shortly after that, Barack Obama went on The Oprah Winfrey Show and presented the long-form version of his birth certificate.4 years to come up with a birth certificate?
Yes, I sure do. I also remember that Barack Obama did eventually release the long-form version of his birth certificate for public review. Whose point were you trying to make with this post?

There was nothing other than Trump's own conspiracy theories to indicate that Obama hadn't been born in Hawaii, as he had said. Once again, I guess transparency is only important to Trump when it involves other people, right? There is a constitutional requirement that presidents be natural, U.S. born citizens. There is no requirement to make tax filings public.
That clarifies things a bit.
