TrumPutinGate

"Ongoing congressional and FBI investigations into Russian interference have so far produced no public evidence that Trump associates colluded with the Russian effort to change the outcome of the election."

I guess volprof, velo and others will have to find another hobby

Imagine that....

Seeking to retain his position as CIA director under Hillary, Brennan teamed up with British spies and Estonian spies to cripple Trump’s candidacy. He used their phony intelligence as a pretext for a multi-agency investigation into Trump, which led the FBI to probe a computer server connected to Trump Tower and gave cover to Susan Rice, among other Hillary supporters, to spy on Trump and his people.

Dude. This American Spectator "article" is a complete hack job. It primarily references a separate article by the Guardian, but it fails to do so accurately. The Guardian article certainly offers NO EVIDENCE WHATSOEVER supporting the Spectator's allegations that Brennan had "colluded with foreign spies" to save his job, nor does it even suggest that the evidence was "half-baked", etc. In sum, the Spectator article looks like nothing more than FAKE NEWS. If it's not, find another non-partisan *real* media outlet that has run this "story". You won't, because it's fake news.

If you had actually read the *real* article from the *real* media outlet, the Guardian, it states the following:

"Adam Schiff, the senior Democrat on the House committee, has expressed an interest in hearing from Christopher Steele, the former MI6 officer whose dossier accuses the president of long-term cooperation with Vladimir Putin’s Moscow. Trump and Putin have both dismissed the dossier as fake.

One source suggested the official investigation was making progress. “They now have specific concrete and corroborative evidence of collusion,” the source said. “This is between people in the Trump campaign and agents of [Russian] influence relating to the use of hacked material.”

https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2017/apr/13/british-spies-first-to-spot-trump-team-links-russia

Unless the Spectator has some "hidden" evidence that they're keeping from the rest of the world, I suspect Brennan may file a libel lawsuit against them. The Spectator article is a flaming pile of garbage, as the Donald would say.

Interesting

A second institute document, drafted in October and distributed in the same way, warned that Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton was likely to win the election. For that reason, it argued, it was better for Russia to end its pro-Trump propaganda and instead intensify its messaging about voter fraud to undermine the U.S. electoral system’s legitimacy and damage Clinton’s reputation in an effort to undermine her presidency, the seven officials said.

Leads one to wonder if Russia is conducting a propaganda campaign to undermine Trump suggesting he was in cahoots. Wouldn't that blow some people's mind?

Trump was right about one thing: He could shoot someone in Times Square on live TV and VolNation posters would still defend him.

Don't confuse questioning the logic of accusations and parsing out what some of these articles are really saying with defending.

Some of us are trying to analyze the situation.

Big picture: Russia seeks to undermine the American government, however that may be best achieved under the existing circumstances. It isn't wedded to Trump (or anyone) else for life.

I don't think that is a surprise at all. Does nothing to establish the collusion angle and demonstrates they didn't need Trump to collaborate - they were going to do what they were going to do. I assume no one is looking into Russia's possible propaganda use to encourage people to believe they were in cahoots with Trump but that would be a natural extension of this larger goal. All the accusations (and the longer this drags out) helps them - I wouldn't be surprised if they planted some of the "evidence".

I imagine there are some "think tank" papers floating around about how the US can influence elections in any number of countries.

Come on VB, we wouldn't explore such possibilities.

... Which has been going on from the beginning of the USSR.

And, I'm quite certain the same goes both ways.

Yes, and if true, the whole "Russia connection" was cooked up by the Hillary Machine. No wonder no real evidence has come to light. And, no wonder Trump has been suspicious of the Intelligence offices.

Baaaaa, sheep.

That may well be the dumbest "article" on this entire matter I've read thus far. Well, only made it about a paragraph or two in before I had to stop. It completely misrepresents that Guardian piece and is highly deceitful.

It is appalling how ill-informed on this matter many of you are.

True, I don't think anyone else has taken this bunch of popycock hook line and sinker like you have.

If it is easier for you to believe that the Obama administration conspired with several other foreign intelligence agencies to violate American laws, as well as the laws of all of those respective nations in order to spy on the Donny crew, and that, what's more, they only now waited to release all of this "false intelligence" instead of before the election....

...if it is easier to believe this than to believe that a money launderer with the ethics of a child molester colluded with Russian intelligence to rig our election in his favor through propaganda/influence operations, then you are one of three things:

1. A complete and utter partisan hack
2. A complete and utter nutbag
3. Both

None of the above, I just live in the real world.

Also, I'm hearing that Comey is likely going to drop the hammer on the Schoolmarm Giuliani, as well as the FBI NY Field Office.

Prince is also likely to get folded in this as well, if not Scheinerman's investigation.

What a dirty, dirty bunch of crooks these individuals are. There's so many nooks and crannies, and so many people involved in this coup, that it's no wonder Comey is getting all his ducks in a row.

I find it much easier to believe that the Obama admin abused its authority with the intelligence agencies. Why? Because they've done it before.

I think I should also take the time to commend our resident Kremlin apologists here.

For your dedicated and fearless service in the defense of the Kremlin's coup of our democracy, you will always be remembered. Your courage and bravery, in the Kremlin's time of distress, are remarkable and inspiring.

Future generations of Americans should all follow your service example.

That wasn't all I posted. This also requires you to believe that a dozen foreign intelligence services colluded with Obama in the process of violating their respective laws as well.

You are a partisan hack though, so no defense you provide matters to me.

BREAKING NEWS

still no evidence of a TrumPutin connection.

Only a lot of "I'm hearing" this or my twitter sources are saying that.

Big on links. But short on evidence.

I should also mention this in addition to all of the incredible coincidences, all of the lies about Russian meetings/connections, and all of the dead Russians reportedly connected to this operation.

But, yeah, the IRS targeted conservative groups and the IC drummed up some numbers on ISIS, so surely it is more likely to believe Obama conspired with a dozen foreign intel services to damage Donny and then never released any of this.
