TrumPutinGate

I suppose now is a good time to mention that it turns out Comey was willing to go public with Russian interference as early as July, but Obama didn't allow it. Why, we may never know.

This particular story broke while I was on one of my vacations on Elba, so I did not post it at the time. I don't think anyone else did either.

But, then again, everyone knows too that Republican Jim "Donny blew me a kiss" Comey is a complete liberal stooge.

No, we were talking about the DNC server. Hillary's server was examined by the FBI after being wiped. There were never any claims from the DNC that her server was hacked.

You are right. It was the DNC server being talked about. I changed the subject and found more questions I would like to find more about. So why did the FBI not obtain a warrant or subpoena for HC servers?

If true, which I have my doubts, the fact the Director of the FBI wanted to write and Op-Ed in the newspaper about it is troubling in itself. You are the ****ing Director of the FBI and you have information regarding a foreign power trying to influence our election and you want to write an Op-Ed? Hold a damn press conference if it's that important!

I would think that that might have been for future intelligence gathering on the matter. To try to get the whole picture and not go public until the rabbit hole was thoroughly searched. It would make the investigation harder if russia knew we were keen to some of their operations.

They did. The server was wiped before they got their hands on it.

I want to take one moment to thank Rachel Maddow for her superb investigative reporting on Donny-Russia collusion.

When the rest of the mainstream seems to be perfectly content to just hand such matters over to a panel (of crapheads), she does her own dirty work.

She's down and dirty in the streets.

And, again, for the record for the umpteenth time, Maddow is not what I credit as a "source" on this.

TrumPutin Update:

No credible evidence of a TrumPutin connection has been turned up as of yet.

VolProf, Maddow and others continue to dig.

Meanwhile, Trump and Putin remain at odds, contradicting the collaboration narrative.

You probably did but it really wasn't discussed. On one hand he should have done it for political purposes but on the other I feel tipping off the public would undermine the intelligence gathering aspect of it.

In general he was passive in the face of Russian advances.

Was this around the same time FISA warrants were being sought?

Exxon Mobil Seeks U.S. Sanctions Waiver for Oil Project in Russia

Uh oh.

http://money.cnn.com/2017/04/21/news/companies/trump-exxon-russia-sanctions/index.html

The Trump administration has denied ExxonMobil permission to bypass sanctions to drill for oil in Russia.

"The Treasury Department will not be issuing waivers to U.S. companies, including Exxon, authorizing drilling prohibited by current Russian sanctions," Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, said in a statement Friday. Mnuchin said he consulted with President Trump on the decision.

Exxon had applied for a waiver from sanctions imposed by the Obama administration in a bid to resume its lucrative joint venture with Russian state oil giant PAO Rosneft.

In a statement, Exxon said "we understand" the decision by the Treasury Department. Exxon explained that its application for a license was aimed at meeting the company's "contractual obligations" in Russia, where competitors are allowed to drill under European sanctions.
