Here's the thing.

Trump easily could be the maverick even us lefties respect and can get behind without his also incessantly being such a tool.

He could be so cool if he showed some humility and maybe even some self deprecating humor. Skipping the correspondents dinner was a real missed opportunity, imo.

Really? There is no way in this earth even with "self deprecating humor" most of the left would ever give him a chance. Bush was pretty good about cracking jokes on himself and he never got any kind of respect from the left.

The entire message on the left depends on their continued hatred and derision of Trump. There is no way they will ever take their eye off that ball.
