You think that the only source of the election results would be on these officials computers? Even if one were hacked and results were misreported as you suggest it could easily be corrected.

Could be any number of reasons to hack these government officials.

Two days earlier, Comey had confirmed in a congressional hearing that the bureau was probing whether Trump’s campaign coordinated with Russia during the 2016 race."
