TrumPutinGate

I primarily watch MsNBC if I'm watching one of the major cable news networks, but I consult numerous sources, ranging from newspapers to foreign sources to blogs to etc. etc.

I used to even watch some Fox, but after the Seth Rich thing, I refuse to and will not allow it to be viewed in my home. That is, without question, the most disgusting thing I've ever seen a "media source" do.

BSNBC that explains a lot ..

Just to follow up. Do you think your father or grandfather is a dumb ass?

I would not use that terminology, but when it comes to matters of the intellect, no, they're not the most sophisticated. Not really their fault though, as they were/are largely products of their environment.

It's actually started occurring to me that perhaps our only shot at actual reform is simply a matter of the Baby Boomer generation passing. Worst generation in my lifetime.

How the generation that saved the world from fascism ever birthed that generation of entitlement - i.e., our current politicians - I will never understand.

The polarization of American politics started with fox--let's be clear about that. MSNBC went progressive in reaction to fox. Aside from being on opposite political poles, the biggest difference between fox and msnbc is that msnbc talent is much smarter than fox talent, but then that's usually the difference between progressives and conservatives. That Trump's go-to show is "fox and friends"--lame party line chat--speaks volumes.

If any partially objective person watches any given hour of Fox as opposed to any given hour of MsNBC, s/he will reach the conclusion that the former is designed to drive ratings and to propagate a blind, hateful Republican following, while the latter is designed to pick up the remnants of the remaining market share and selectively promote liberal-interest topics.

One is mass media sensationalism designed to create and feed off a brainwashed society, while the other is merely biased.

I'm not sure i even know how to respond to that. If it helps you out, I'm a boomer and I'll probably be dead within 20 years. My kids and grand kids might be a sad about it though when it happens.

We'll all be sad. No one wants to lose their family members.

But none of that changes the havoc your generation has wreaked upon this society.

Spare me the millennial nonsense I've had to hear from the likes of you nearly the past decade. Millennials have never even had the slightest bearing upon your life, though you will have to rely upon them potentially for your care later in life.

Whats wrong with having a bleeding heart liberal trying to explain why they want free sh!t for all?

Makes for good comedy.

Years ago on some cable channel there was something like Mystery Science Theater - there were a couple of aliens at the bottom of the screen - like heads in the rows in front of you. The movie might be garbage but the wise cracks from the aliens were great.

That would be the way to do a lib interview. Both entertaining and far more intelligent in the long run.

CNN is neither liberal nor liberal-slanted. I used to think they were, but they're not.

They just go with the ratings.

Also, while we're on this subject, let's retire the false Fox and MsNBC equivalency. One is a propaganda site meant to stir half of Americans into enraged frenzy (if not even violence), while the other is merely selective in its coverage. The two are not the same thing.

When you've slipped off the left end, it all looks right to you.

It's interesting that you point that out. Being an old fart I have taken the local newspaper for decades and have now decided to cancel it. The Knoxville News-Sentinel was bought out by whatever company owns the USA Today network and they have become too liberal for my money. So they can kiss my $29 a month goodbye.

Good call - no more John Adams for starters. He even annoys birds if used in the bottom of the cage.

Your generation is the one that has wreaked havock. I work every day with your generation and they are lazy as sh1t. They can't come to work before 8:30 or 9:00, when everyone else comes in at 7:00, they can't be critisized, they're *******.

And this affects your governance how?

Sorry, but I'm not going to let people like you blame all your problems on the "young generation."

Nope, you got us here. Take some responsibility for once. So you show up for work on time. Big flipping deal. Need another entitlement check to reward you or something?

Just out of curiosity, how old are you VP?

If a lib starts out with "let's be clear", he's getting ready to tell you a whopper. Polarization of US politics started out well before Fox was around. I'll grant you it was a while before liberal news networks (NBC, CBS, ABC) had any competition.
