TrumPutinGate

As I said yesterday, a person with actual principle is so foreign to you, you don't even know how to process it.

You just automatically assume they're lying.

You seriously need to surround yourself with better people. That's really all I can tell you.

I assume that you are automatically lying, yes. No question in my mind.

Relativists and patriots.

As far as how those two groups break down demographically, I have no idea, but those will be your two contestants.

Do you believe the military (all branches) will split and join either side?

Why do you think you wouldn't be able to get a security clearance?

Because I would have had to have lied multiple times to have gotten into the military.

This would have all eventually come out in the clearance process, especially as what I was hoping to do would likely have required potential TS+.

Actually, my last recruiter (who I had the heart-to-heart with, right before my interview) told me that another man had gone through my same recruitment office just a couple years prior, hoping to do what I was seeking, only to get discharged (I assume dishonorably). Poor guy lied about his medical on his entrance forms, made it all the way through OTS, got commissioned, and then got booted after his polygraph with a federal investigator.

As far as a security clearance outside the military, I have no idea. I've never sought one.

I am under the impression they are a bit easier to obtain on the outside, though. Could be wrong.

When I say that Donny will see us in a civil war before he surrenders, this is essentially what I mean.

I don't want it, as I know it will be fierce, brutal, and horrible.

But what scares me is that a certain segment of our society will basically end up forcing our hand.

We are in a great era of moral decay and relativism, just as Rome's Republic was in its final days too.

All of this saddens me.

To be honest, this country will end at some point. We are certainly in a unique situation but there's no civil war on the horizon. A considerable segment of our population will defend President Trump and other numerous professional politicians until the day they die. They will continue to deflect facts with facts of other professional politicians to show that their guy is less bad than your guy. Please step off the ledge and stop arguing with these types on this website. Its pointless and does nothing but further stereotypes for each side.

President Trump is not going to ruin this country. We as citizens hold that power. The greatest threat to our freedom is the war we have been in for almost two decades. President Trump did not start that war and we have to force its end by our votes in the next election. It's that simple. We stop the war and we have money for healthcare, we have money for a wall, we have money to upgrade our infrastructure, we have the ability to do anything we desire as a country. What we have to work on is this notion that poor people are the enemy and conservatives/libtards hatred.

If we're talking about this scenario we've been discussing as the context of a potential civil war, I think the military, by and large, will be on the side of the patriots and the constitutionalists, even despite the fact that most of them voted for Donny.

I think there's the potential for some rogue colonels and even generals/admirals, but they will largely be defeated within a matter of mere weeks/months.

What I'm most worried about is the neighbor-to-neighbor dynamic. The military can't be everywhere at once, especially with so many of them overseas.

Do you foresee the military using military-grade weapons on other Americans?

Which side do you see ruling elites on?

Can't believe I just read that from the Redstate. What kind of trickery are they trying to pull. Are they actually trying to get out in front and ease the blow to their readers?

Conservatives who get out in front of this will reserve for themselves a most esteemed position in our nation's history. Our great-grandchildren may well sing songs of them one day.

The memories of the conservatives who do not, however, will be thrown upon the great ash heap of history.

Sadly, I'm afraid the latter will be the majority of them.

I largely agree with your statements. I agree that Donny is not the cause; merely a gross symptom of the rot in all of us and in our system. We're responsible for this and what it has become.

I also agree that it will most likely not come to a civil war. I do, however, believe that we will be confronted with a major constitutional crisis, the likes of which we have only seen in the 1780s-90s and in the 1860s. As a result of that, I think there will be some bloodshed, but it will likely be minor. Nothing on "civil war" scale.

Regarding the nation ultimately ending, perhaps, but I will never allow it as long as there's still a breath in me.

I understand better now. Disregard previous Qs.

I really have to applaud their effort with this article. Hope this trend continues with the other outlets. I think they may have realized that it has become their obligation.

As I said to the other poster, I don't see it coming to that at all, but since we're in our little hypothetical mode, I'll continue to indulge.

Yes, I would foresee that in such a situation, but it would not be in an illegal manner. It would be to squelch the unrest caused by those unwilling to accept the Constitution and the law.

Regarding the ruling elites, there is no one group of them, so generalizations about them are difficult. However, one thing you can likely generalize about them is that they will go wherever they see security. So, whichever side appears to have the upperhand and have secured the best economic interests for them and their families, they will go with them. Waffle back and forth as one side gains and as another loses. They're spineless cowards, for the most part, and will drift with the winds of change.

Only tangentially related, but my wife and I were dinning outside a restaurant Friday evening, and I turned to her and observed, "Isn't it amazing? The president has essentially attacked our own nation, we now have proof of it, and it's all as if nothing happened." People were just walking by like nothing had changed, no one was calling for a march, no one taking up arms, etc. Just as if nothing had ever changed and there was nothing but normality in the White House and DC.

Perhaps I'm wrong about all of this. Perhaps, when the time comes, Americans will simply shrug it all off and just go about the Facebook and the Tinder and whatever else it is they've been doing all this time.

I look at it as hope. Hope that we can come together as a nation and avoid the "civil war".

True.

I'm just worried, though, that it is complacency. In which case, the Republic and the Constitution are as good as gone.

I think you are. Im Not knife twisting. Just doubt neither trump in cuffs nor civil war is in our future.

Perhaps neither will occur, and we will be a happy nation to have avoided a civil war.

But letting Donny skate on this will be a grave, grave mistake.

It will embolden, and there will be more Donnys to come - 25, 50, 100 years down the road.

He must be punished to the fullest extent of the law and made an example
