TrumPutinGate

YOUR President had his campaign collude with the Russian government, knew of it and was prepared to boast about it, lies every single day, cannot control his urge to antagonize anyone who tells the truth, cannot stand criticism, lies about the Russian collusion, sends his son in law off to set up secret back channels to Moscow so as to avoid US intelligence detection, and is woefully unfit for office in every respect.

I'd say you have a lot of problems.

Do you have proof of these allegations?

Simply repeating it non-stop doesn't make it true

The democrats have no message other than RUSSIA, RUSSIA, RUSSIA.

There is not a semblance of a viable leader in the entire democrat party.

I agree with the leadership part. We especially need to jettison Pelosi and I'd like to see Mark Warner replace Schumer. There are some young Ds coming up that may work out. One has the unfortunate last name Castro.

However, you guy's haven't much to brag about. Your #1 leader is the worlds biggest POS.

Ah yes, President Castro doesn't ring a good bell for all Americans.

The fact that the Trump nuthuggers invariably find themselves confronting every new controversy with just bashing someone else (Clinton, Obama, Biden) is telling.

How about you for once face the problem right in front of you head on?

Funny coming from you. Wasn't everything Bush's fault?

Actually, I'd say Manchin, Heitkamp or Tester would be a better choice. Warner is right there on the edge of the "unreasonable" abyss. At least the other three know how to reach across the aisle.

Of course, I think you call those three "DINOs". Democrats In Name Only.

The problem with the House is most of the Blue Dogs that could lead your party in moderation were defeated in prior elections. There really isn't anyone capable of being a moderate voice that can defeat Pelosi and her block. Not that I'm complaining though, I'd prefer you keep that old witch in place.

The problem is if the Dems had someone willing to reach across the aisle I don't see any Rs who would be willing to reach back. Any Rs who even hint at compromise get so threatened and hammered by far Right (those that control the purse strings) that they dare not. It's almost as bad on the Left.

Their history of reaching across the isle into our back pocket is not sustainable.

I beg to differ. Both the Gang of 8 and Manchin-Toomey are classic examples of working across the aisle even in these partisan times. Provided Manchin-Toomey didn't pass (for other reasons than the partisan nature) and the Gang of 8 didn't ever get time in the House (but passed the Senate 68-32).

Regardless, a little give and take can work. The problem is you have Schumer and Pelosi digging in their heels and automatically saying "NO!" to anything that gets proposed. The reasonable (I will lol after that) measure for the DNC would be to take a moderate line and make the GOP look like the bad guys. "Look, we tried, we negotiated, we compromised, they wouldn't budge" does tend to work a lot better in voters eyes than "Nah, McConnell/Ryan proposed it, it sucks, we said no."

I know you think "Dims" is the height of wit, but it says more about your intellect than those you are attempting to insult.

The digging in of heels on both sides is why we are where we are. For a very long time in our history compromise was the name of the game in politics. I don't think any President received less cooperation from the other side than Obama did. (Trump may set a new standard though) Don't forget McConnell's number one objective was not the Nation. His stated priority from the get go was do do whatever it took to make Obama a one term president. And of course he received more of the same during his second term. I admit W Bush was treated pretty badly but he did get his tax cuts, wars and war cost appropriations through.

Sad, but I don't see anything changing any time soon on either side.

Don't get me wrong, I'll never claim the GOP has Lilly white hands over anything and they are just as much to blame as the DNC for gridlock. However, something's got to give and the first party to give it a try will be the party that can hold the "moral high ground" for lack of a better term when it comes to the impasse we are currently under. Both look like the inside of a ten day old kitty litter box at the moment.
