Yes, although, to be honest, I underestimated the moral bankruptcy of Republicans and even the nation at large.

In a normal, functioning republic, one with morals to boot, Donny would have been done after a month or two tops.

There should have been an American official present to interpret along with the Russian dude, but otherwise I don't have an issue with these sort of meetings. I'm sure they happen far more than we know. And I'm sure much more is accomplished with these types of private conversations.

But why the smoke? Not disclosing it until the story broke? It isn't that Trump committed treason, but having a meeting at a summit in full view of other heads of State with a leader you are under investigation for colluding with to sway an American election. Just say you met when you met.

It only adds to the perception of a constantly lying administration, even if in practice it is a perfectly normal tactic to meet privately. Sometimes I think a six year old is in charge of Trump's PR.

Ordinarily, I would agree with you about something like this.

But that is the modus operandi for this crew: make it so blatant and so public that rational people refuse to believe it's what it looks like.

Honestly, at this point, I thought we were past that, but I guess there's still additional work for our nation's leakers, IC, and law enforcement to do.
