TrumPutinGate

Deflection... That's where I knew this would end up.

What did Don Jr. get from the meeting? Did he get the information?

However in the case of the DNC and Ukraine the DNC actually did receive information (what you consider "something of value")

I can only assume you believe the DNC guilty.

Forgive me if I doubt your grasp of Federal statutes and their application in a case such as this.

Guess the DNC is guilty then - they met with Ukrainians to get dirt on Trump.

The June meeting is what you want to impeach on? Awesome. Thanks for fighting for justice

Trust me, thew DNC continually pushing the Trump investigation was never about justice. (I know you know this)

Personally? it was deflection and taking attention away from their own misdeeds. We all know it, though some don't want to admit it.

This has been covered in this thread before but I'll do it again...

Collusion: Secret or illegal cooperation or conspiracy, especially in order to cheat or deceive others.

Federal law prohibits a foreign national from giving anything of value to a campaign engaged in a U.S. election. It's also a crime to solicit a foreign national to do so, or to even knowingly provide substantial assistance in receiving something of value. This 'something of value' can be information - not necessarily monetary. In this case, the foreign national(s) are Natalia Veselnitskaya, Rinat Akhmetshin and the other Russian operatives in the meeting. Their information was solicited by Trump Jr's "I love it" response to Rob Goldstone... and it's very noteworthy that Trump's campaign manager at the time (Manafort) was also in attendance at this meeting.

You assume information of value was given. If there was valuable information given can you point to where the Trump campaign used it?

I have no legal background whatsoever (I don't call myself lawvol)... What I posted in regard to federal law came directly from what I've been reading on this subject. And come on, nobody cares about what did or didn't happen with Hillary Clinton or the DNC. Had Hillary won, I'm sure this would be front page news but she didn't. To the winner goes the spoils - and the investigations.

I care - not about getting Hillary but in applying the law evenly. I'd be glad to see Trump gone and Pence take over but no way I condone it if it is selective prosecution.

Speaking of Hillary, people posted all sorts of Federal statutes relating to the destruction of Federal records, the handling of classified information etc. If you read them the way you are reading the one you posted you would have to say she violated them. We know it didn't turn out that way.

In the more practical world, there is no way we have a Special Prosecutor and all the associated resources to nail Trump on that specific fizzled meeting. If that meeting is all that comes out on "collusion" then Trump is in the clear or we have an even more f'd up system than I imagined.

Russia meddled in the election. That is indisputable. It is about the hacking of the DNC by Russian agents and whether or not the Trump campaign had knowledge of it and colluded with Russia in the dissemination of it's content from WikiLeaks.

Russians hacking the DNC is very much in dispute.

1) We currently do not know what he got out of it, if anything. He says he got nothing, but he and the President have repeatedly and blatantly lied about this meeting at least a half a dozen times, so you will understand if we do not accept that nothing came of it.

2) There is definitely malicious intent there on the part of the Trump Jr and on the part of Trump, himself. Trump, Jr. was happy to have the meeting to get promised dirt on Clinton. Trump then promised that he would be releasing dirt on Clinton the next week, because he was told of the meeting and the promise of dirt on her.

You Trump nuthuggers are reduced to, "Well, yeah, they met intending to collude, they wanted to collude. They were excited about colluding. And they've lied about it a bunch. But hey, it didn't work out so no harm no foul" is just pathetic.

Yeah, prove to me they were hacked. Especially in light of the servers still not being looked at by anyone from the Federal Government.

It should be fun watching Muller or anyone else prove malicious intent, that Trump knew of the meeting or basically anything else in #2.

So you agree then that the DNC colluded with the Ukraine?

I know the IC has claimed they know it was the Russians.

The only thing that gives me pause with that claim (though I don't have any real reasons to doubt it) is what's going on with the DNC, Wasser-Schulz and the IT guy.

I've also seen some claims about download speed issues suggesting it was not a hack but a physical transfer (e.g. memory stick) but I have no way of evaluating those theories.

this. The unequal application of the law should worry every American.

Bet? How about a self ban?

Feel free to self ban. If trump's not gone within the next 311 days, the PF will need me more than ever.

If I'm wrong I'll say, "unfortunately for me, my family, the country, and the world I was wrong."

If I'm right you can say, "luther was correct this whole time, I'm obviously an idiot."

You're not going to call yourself the idiot if you are wrong?

not how it works in the real world. You need evidence first, then you prosecute. You have been pushing guilty from the start and looking for any crime to slap on him. Even if you are correct the only way the bolded is true is if EVERYTHING you have accused Trump of is true. Which it obviously won't be. anything less and you are being a mockery of the justice system.

That's coming. What will you say if Trump knew of it and that the plan was to get some dirt on her ?

Because that is where this is headed.
