TrumPutinGate

It has the same rule - one party consent.

Whatever man

The people in the conversation in the restaurant talking loudly cannot expect privacy. That is common sense and was not the argument. There is no intent in this case to eavesdrop therefore no consent is required if there was a recording that was picked up in normal operation that would be allowable, but if he "intended" to eavesdrop and record that is a crime.

Thanks Matlock.

Sounds like there's a lot of butt hurt from the right that one of the top players is going down for something they claimed all along is completely bogus. Who gives a **** whether it's legal to record a conversation in public. Who gives a **** what these two lawyers discussed.

What's going to be interesting is to see how soon and how many of these crooks Trump will pardon.

I'll believe it when it happens, Manafort goes down he goes down.

I hope it's not for something unrelated to the election.

If these a-hats were dumb enough to speak openly about anything involving the President (from a legal standpoint) then Trump should fire them on the spot. If you open your mouth in a public setting, it is no longer a private conversation. As far as the hidden camera thing, with cell phones in today's world...everyone has a "hidden" camera. If you do something or say something stupid, your butt should just expect it was caught on camera.

Longtime top Trump aide Keith Schiller has reportedly officially left the White House after maintaining for some time that he was planning on doing so.
Schiller has worked for Trump for almost twenty years, serving as the businessman’s director of security until assuming the role of director of Oval Office operations upon his boss’ inauguration. Schiller was the only Trump bodyguard to stay on once the belligerent businessman left private life and ran for public office.
Schiller was reportedly unhappy with the pay cut he took upon joining Trump’s White House, although notably, earlier this month, White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders insisted Schiller was planning on staying in the administration

So it took them this long to find the recordings from the illegal wiretapping they were performing?

And in March Clapper said there was never a FISA warrant he knew about on any Trump campaign member. Lie or the WH/FBI didn't tell him? I think Comey has said the same thing.

Not according to Clapper.

If you want to assert that James Clapper was lying to Chuck Todd, that's fine. Paul Manafort has been the subject of an FBI investigation since 2014 - well before the campaign - it's clear he was under surveillance and it's been reported by multiple outlets that the FBI did obtain a FISA warrant on two different occasions to continue this surveillance.
