Didn't he also testify in front of congress and say there was never a FISA warrant that he knew of? I find it odd that the DNI wouldn't know of such a high profile warrant.

I don't remember exactly what he said to Congress. I would agree that it seems like he should have known about it.

I could almost swear Comey denied any knowledge of a FISA warrant during testimony too, I could be wrong. Now wouldn't that be something if the DNI and FBI director didn't know.

Ongoing investigation, Secret Court, National Security would be legit reasons to play dumb. Remember he was still bound to keep classified information classified and until now it was.

If we are talking Comey talking to Congress - he was under oath; you can't play dumb. He could have said he cannot talk about it (which he did in reference to other matters) or say I can only talk about it in closed session.

He can't say he doesn't know anything about it if indeed he did know something about it. That's perjury.

I don't recall specifically what he said so I'm not accusing him of anything but he can't play dumb as you suggest.

Clapper clearly said not only did he have no knowledge of any wiretap but that no FISA warrant was issued. Of course he was talking to the media at the time so he is free to play dumb, lie or whatever.

I was talking about Clapper. The Comey testimony I'm not sure what was said or asked either and unaware of any testimony of Clapper.

I but you could go back and find out within an hour of when Trump found out that there was a fisa warrant on Manafort just by his Obama wiretap tweet. A lot has changed since then.

The FBI's investigation of Manafort goes back to 2014. Obama wasn't spying on Manafort - the FBI was. Now, if Trump has been caught up in that surveillance, he should blame himself for not having Manafort properly vetted. He should also blame himself for hiring Michael Flynn as National Security Adviser. He had red flags concerning both of them.

good to know the FBI can snoop on someone for over 2 years with no proof of a crime, but don't let that get in the way if the witch hunt

If they didn't either have proof of a crime or proof that Paul Manafort was acting as a foreign agent they would not have been able to obtain a FISA warrant.
