TrumPutinGate

That sure is a selective analysis of what Burr said while ignoring other things he said.

It’s not selective when the FBI and CIA both said they had corroborated Steele’s sources and most of the dossier themselves. No one is going to ignore an intelligence document that was put together by MI6’s former Moscow intelligence officer.

Trump Jr. was trying to negotiate a way for him to testify in closed session. Doesn’t look like that’s happening now.[twitter]https://twitter.com/mkraju/status/915969686571028480[/twitter]

There is a way for him to avoid a public hearing, he can refuse.

FBI once planned to pay former British spy who authored controversial Trump dossier - The Washington Post

In August of 2016 Steele handed over the first 2 parts of the dossier to an FBI agent working in the FBI’s Eurasian Joint Organized Crime Task Force. There is another link that details how FBI’s officials set down with Steele so he could personally brief them on the dossier and tell him who his Russian sources were. Once those sources were. Corroborated by U.S. Intelligence the FBI then started taking about paying Steele to gather more Intelligence. Sometime after this the Washington Post revealed Steele’s Identity and MI6 put out a D-notice.

None of the newly learned information relates to the salacious allegations in the dossier.

Warner had nothing to say and no one is leaking any findings. I'm betting they have nothing and are hanging on the Don Jr. failed meeting as the best they have on the collusion angle.

Much of the collusion allegations are grounded in the dossier and for some reason the author won't cooperate and US Intel (via testimony) has not been able to corroborate.

Burr says no determination of collusion and Warner did not object to that statement. Hope to wrap up investigation by end of year. They've talked to all the intel people and all the Obama people who had any involvement.

Mueller may find something but looking doubtful that the collusion charge has legs.

That's a very misleading characterization of what was said. They did not say there was no evidence of collusion, only that they have not reached a conclusion on that as of yet.

"The intelligence agencies, particularly the CIA, and the FBI took Steele's research seriously enough that they kept it out of a publicly-released January report on Russian meddling in the election in order to not divulge which parts of the dossier they had corroborated and how."

"Information from Christopher Steele, a former MI-6 officer, could help investigators determine whether contacts between people associated with the Trump campaign and suspected Russian operatives broke any laws."

"While the most salacious allegations in the dossier haven't been verified, its broad assertion that Russia waged a campaign to interfere in the election is now accepted as fact by the US intelligence community. CNN also reported earlier this year that US investigators have corroborated some aspects of the dossier, specifically that some of the communications among foreign nationals mentioned in the memos did actually take place."

So, Mueller is wasting time and money with the author of a fake dossier. Wow
