TrumPutinGate

What's wrong with my logic?

There are many, many businesses who have dealings with foreign adversaries right here in the US. But Trump does it and suddenly it becomes a big deal.

Also, as POTUS, has he continued the business dealings?
You haven't explained why he lied about those dealings and the June 9, 2016 meeting at Trump Tower if there was nothing wrong with it.

Riddle me this, Trumpsters:

If Manafort, Corsi, Cohen, and Gates were all engaged in these shenanigans with the Russians over the emails, and without the knowledge of Trump or his campaign, wouldn't Trump WELCOME the investigation so as to confirm that?

Wouldn't Trump from the getgo have emphasized the disconnect between himself and them?

If Trump was not aware of it, then why go to such lengths to discredit the investigation? If he is so pro-America, he ought to be as concerned as the rest of us that there was Russian manipulation of our election to benefit one side or the other and he ought to endorse getting to the bottom of it.

You can't answer, because the premise is false. Trump and his campaign were very much aware of what was going on with Russian help. They encouraged it. They coordinated with it. They colluded. And they have lied about it frequently, including by Trump himself, under oath.

Ain't got no time for logic is MAGAland. Get that stuff outta here.

Nobody cares even if it happened that way. Hillary committed crimes and lied about it. The truth came out and the dims try to flip the blame on others. If it happened the way you think then prove it. So far after 2+ years it’s just conjecture.

You are just a machine at trotting out the company line. There is no crime for collusion, but are you okay with candidates for the presidency engaging foreign governments, in this case an enemy, to gather dirt political opponents? To "partner" with to run campaigns of misinformation to attempt to influence our elections? Are you really ok with that kind of thing?

If it can be proven Trump is complicit, I'm not okay with it. The key word is "proven". Right now, you and your friends are assuming he's guilty.

My problem with Mueller's investigation is how far afield he has gone. His investigation should have been limited in scope to some degree, but he has been allowed to run unfettered and unchecked, all in an attempt to bring down Trump. Let's be honest, this has never been about proving Trump "colluded" with Russia. From the beginning, this has been what can we find to bring down Trump. It doesn't have to be collusion, it could be anything just as long as it achieves the goal of unseating Trump. If you cannot see the problem with that, you will when the tables are eventually turned. When the Republicans demand a SC for the next Democrat President for some perceived crime, and that prosecutor is allowed to run unchecked through every aspect of that President's life, through things that have zero to do with the crime being investigated, you will understand why people call this investigation a "farce".

Too many are tied up in their partisanship to see how dangerous this really is. The precedents being set will be carried forward and both parties will have to deal with the consequences. More importantly, the country will have to deal with the consequences. For me, this isn't about being pro-Trump. I honestly don't like the man, but the lengths that some are willing to go to try and unseat him do not sit well with me. How far is too far?

Let's assume everything being said is true.
Trump Jr met with Russins to get dirt on hill: not illegal and every candidate running for office would have done the same
Corsi/Stone exchanged emails about wikileaks dump: not illegal/nothing to do with Trump/who the hell cares
Non one should have ever met or answered any of Mueller's questions, all he wanted was perjury traps to see if he could get a few to be weak and cut a deal

Again, the Starr Investigation started with Whitewater and ended up lies about consensual sex.

No, every candidate wouldn't have done that. Ethical ones would have kept it in play and notified the FBI and let them handle. You really think meeting with foreign governments for dirt on your political opponent is acceptable. Trump supporters are sacrificing their ethics to support him.

I am not assuming he is guilty, but that appears to be the direction of the investigation.

The theory is (as yet, unproven) that the Russia government was involved with the Trump campaign because of long-standing financial ties between Trump and Russia. If that's true, then you can see how it all ties together in the investigation.

What's he done that's been "rouge?"

Specifically.

Not what your boy Hannity is speculating, what specific thing can you point to, to support that implication?

The lack of charges of anything election related yet he has charged people for process crimes when there apparently was no crime to begin with. It's no different than a local DA who doesn't like you having the local PD pull over and harass all of your friends and family with speeding tickets until they give him something.

What the lie is intending to cover up is of greater importance.

A lie is a lie, Luther. It would be the exact same crime in the eyes of the law. Put aside the Trump hate for one second and live in reality.

Not completely true... it's been proven that Trump's 2016 campaign manager was a tax cheat. Manafort is certainly not some innocent party caught up in a plot to bring down the President.

Don’t be a Luther and attempt a comparison of the Whitewater investigation and this one. There is no comparison.
True. This one is much more focused and true to the original intent. PLUS being done in one third the time.

Again, the Starr Investigation started with Whitewater and ended up lies about consensual sex.

And I don't think you are going to find many people here that think Starr should have went down that road after he finished up the Whitewater part.

Wasn't talking about Manafort but you bring up a good point. Why did the Muell decide to prosecute the same case the DOJ let slide under the Obama administration?
