The Supreme Court could now decide as early as Wednesday afternoon whether an unnamed foreign-owned company will have to pay daily fines for avoiding a grand jury subpoena related to Robert Mueller's special counsel investigation.
The company submitted a reply under seal to the Supreme Court earlier today, following written arguments it and the Justice Department made last week.
The filing Wednesday tees up a vote by the full Supreme Court.

Washington lobbyist W. Samuel Patten, who has been one of the most low-profile but potentially significant cooperators in the special counsel's office investigation, appears to still be involved with sensitive aspects of Robert Mueller and the Justice Department's work.
In a court filing Monday meant to update a judge on his case and whether he should proceed to sentencing, prosecutors revealed nothing. Instead, they filed the entire status update under seal, giving no public reason for keeping details of his case private.
The secret court filing Monday comes in contrast to several disclosures prosecutors previously made about Patten's admitted crimes — especially related to him procuring Trump inauguration tickets for a Ukrainian client — and the related lobbying work for Ukrainians done by former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort.
Patten previously admitted to procuring Trump inauguration tickets illegally for a Ukrainian oligarch and a Russian closely associated with Paul Manafort. Patten was a corporate lobbyist in business with the former Trump campaign chairman's longtime Russian associate Konstantin Kilimnik, whom the Mueller team has asked about in recent months and accused of having ties to the Russian intelligence group that allegedly hacked the Democrats in 2016.

Did you know that Hillary Clinton while secretary of state, sold US Government SAFE ACCESS PROGRAMS (Special Access File Exchange SAFE) to Clinton Foundation donor nations. Which are all classified. The fact Hillary in possession of these unauthorized classified programs was and still is TREASONOUS which carries a death penalty.

So, now we know why Donald Trump floated the utterly ridiculous suggestion, completely out of the wild blue yonder at a cabinet meeting yesterday, that the Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan in 1979 because terrorists were infiltrating Russia through it... Vladimir Putin's party has recently sponsored a resolution which they say "justifies" the invasion of Afghanistan to fight terrorism. No terrorist attack within the substantial borders of the countries forming the former Soviet Union (including Russia) was cited in this resolution. Former Soviet premier, Mikhail Gorbachev, has talked at length about what a disastrous mistake this invasion was... and never mentioned terrorism as a root cause.

This is yet another example of Trump bowing to the wishes of Putin and making an absurd claim that Russia was justified in invading Afghanistan, which he could only have heard from the Russian President. Yes, Trump is Putin's puppet. It becomes more and more clear all the time.
