Somewhere in here, I explained my feels that Clinton not being removed is how we got into this mess.

(Ironically Charlie Sykes had a podcast a few days ago talking about the direct line between Newt Gingrich in the late 80s to Clinton in the late 90s to our present political climate. Not sure Sykes is a tremendous authority on much, but I always feel mildly affirmed knowing that other people have independently reached the same conclusion that I did.)

Stories this week that confirmed the agencies actually did start an investigation into the US President, based literally merely on the fact that his foreign policy differed from their preferences (and known dirty intel against him), after having denied they had done so.

That's been about to hit the fan, so they leaked it for spin, spun it, and now we have these stories as distraction based on anonymous sources.

I’m not concerned one way or the other. Until somebody with direct knowledge makes a public statement on the record corroborating the claims this is just another useless hearsay piece... in a very long line of hearsay pieces.

That are often timed to distract from other bits in the news cycle, only to be quietly corrected later.

That's literally the way the FISA approvals worked. The 3 letter agencies leaked fake dossier to media. They then gave the fake dossier as evidence. They then used media stories as corroboration.
