I wouldn't put him in the Georgia column yet. If Coach O can get him to make an official visit, I think we have a good chance to sign him. :)

Sportstalk Radio in Chattanooga mentioned today he's interviewing for ND opening...Not sure if that meant HC or on an All-Star staff

Tubbs is a good coach, he's not going to be a DC.

Also, I literally spit out my gatorade my I saw Tuberville as a candidate at Notre Dame.

Heard Tubberville interviewed on a local radio station 2 days ago. Said in NO WAY was he interested in being the DC at UGA or anyone else. He already put his time in at that position and it required a little more than he was interested in. He said being a head coach is more of being an overseer and that was what he was looking for. Did say he would be open to Notre Dame...but has not heard from them. Wants a gig in a BCS conference. So I think we can safely put this rumor to bed....unless he just lied openly....which I guess is possible.

How fluid are Tubb's hips?

Is he slow or fast twitch?

Tuberville said several times while announcing last years UA All-American game that he would like a head coaching job in the Pac-10.

i can't believe anyone would believe this..it doesn't even qualify as a rumor....more like a crack pipe dream

I especially liked the Fulmer to UGA as OC rumor. He could coach CMR on exactly how to execute the death spiral so that he gets carried off the field in his last game AND gets $6MM !

Rumor in Athens is he'll be named new DC tomorrow. Again, its a rumor but I have some buddies who say its a done deal. Power staffs are the wave of the future... must be nice to be Sexton.

Little history...

Tuberville and Richt's relationship dates back to the 1980s and Miami. Over recent years, there have been numerous stories of the two spending time together in the offseason. They were part of a team of coaches that traveled to the Middle East to visit U.S. service members in the summer of 2007. While at just 55, there is plenty left in Tommy's tank, and there will certainly be a school sooner or later that would be thrilled to have him as their next head coach. Last summer, UGASports was told that there might be interest on the part of Tuberville in coaching again, but perhaps not as a head coach right away because he wanted to stay in the Southeast and for whatever reasons coaching a third SEC school was not immediately in the cards. The story from there went that Richt and Tuberville, or people extremely close to them, discussed Tuberville becoming the defensive coordinator at Georgia

Bogus... got a link to that?

I just don't see this happening. I would imagine Tubberville will have some interviews for HC positions after the bowl season.
