Somebody is pulling your leg.

All you have done is trolled my post on this subject but have yet to prove anything other than your opinion to the contrary. I said they were getting interviews. I never said they were going to be the new DC. I am sure Tubbs has lots of conversations about open positions. Bowden wants back in Division 1. West is a head scratcher, but he may be willing to settle for a position coach for all we know.

1) Tubberville would not waste his time with an interview. They perhaps talked to him as a consultant.

2) Bowden was an offensive minded coach who has not coached anything of significance for a decade. Why would UGA have any interest in him as a DC?

2) West, who knows. At least he has DC experience.

(PS: Why would the UGA administration be telling players who they are interviewing?)

*BREAKING NEWS FROM A GOOD SOURCE*

John Gruden and the re-animated corpse of Kirby Puckett just accepted the D coordinator job at UGA. Believe it or not, I dont care. But thats what my source said.

Impossible. No way Gruden will ever leave the Buccaneers.

Never said that administration told any of the players. Never said any of it was fact. Just passed along info from one of their players told an old coach of his.

Just like info gets bantered around a message board, it gets bantered around athletic departments. Does not mean its always true, but it doesn't mean that it's always false.

Why do you think UGA would be interested in Bowden. He has never managed the Defense and has been out of coaching anything of importance for a decade?

Honestly, I really do not know. For all I know, they were having Bible study together. Given the fact that Richt worked with most of the Bowden clan, it is certainly not out of the realm of possibility that the two could have met or spoke.

Rumor in Athens is he'll be named new DC tomorrow. Again, its a rumor but I have some buddies who say its a done deal. Power staffs are the wave of the future... must be nice to be Sexton.

What time today?.......:)

It makes sense that Richt would consult with Tubberville and Bowden regarding filling the position. As you say, with Richt’s history with the Bowden’s it makes sense to talk with a fellow offensive minded coach about how he would go about filling the position.

The implication in the other thread was that they are interviewing for the DC position. That makes no sense.

Merely suggesting that they could have spoke about anything and everything.

Again, I was relaying some info that I had heard. At the time, it really did not register that Bowden had mostly served on the offense, bc like you said, he has been irrelevant for the better part of a decade. Had I remembered that, I probably would have left his name out at the time. I think it's is very plausible that the other two could have had an interview/talk/consulation or what have you.

Your right about the implication. My apologies for improper wording. I went back and fixed it just for you! :)

Note: I personally believe Kirby Smart will be who they go after first.
