So what are people's guesses as to the why?
a) TC's decision (I think we'd have heard about that by now)
b) A fight over money. Certainly has to be on the list.
c) TC genuinely conflicted about staying pro-Trump moving towards 2024 but the network was demanding it whereas TC thinks its time for new blood.
d) Murdoch embarrassed by revelations of how much TC protested the editorial influence of corporate leadership in 2020/21. Also in my view highly possible.
Those are just some theories. Complete speculation right now.
Definitely. He will be paid the balance remaining on his contract, as long as he doesn't sue, signs an NDA and agrees not to be critical of the network.
Financially speaking, Carlson will come out ahead on this, at least in the short run ... but he will have a lower profile as a political analyst - for whatever that is worth. They will pay him a fortune. He inked this deal just after Fox was hemorrhaging viewers to Newsmax because of their election coverage.
Tucker Carlson Inks New Deal With Fox; Joins Fox Nation – Deadline
So has RT swooped in to snatch up Tucker yet? Be such a great fit, right @Rasputin_Vol?
OReilly got $25 million from Fox on his way out. Carlson will probably get more. Lemon will get millions to leave CNN. If that's what we are calling "getting fired" these days then count me in. Reminds me of College Football coaches walking away with millions after "getting fired". It's Ridiculous!Financially speaking, Carlson will come out ahead on this, at least in the short run ... but he will have a lower profile as a political analyst - for whatever that is worth.
I don't watch CNN, so I really don't know much about him. I've read that he has been with the network for 17 years. That was surprising to me. I have only been reading things about him for 3 or 4 years. The only cable news show I watch is Rachel Maddow ... and she is only on Monday nights now.A bit of irony in there in that, if you ask me, his reporting was often so stilted it shouldn't bother anyone that he has hit the bricks.
