Tucker Carlson Obsession Thread (merged)

While morally and ethically irresponsible, it's a winning business model for Carlson - just lie and deceive your viewers on a nightly basis because they live in a fact-free echo chamber of fear-mongering and conspiracy theories and will believe whatever they are told regardless of any factual evidence to the contrary.

So, if fox news and it's programming is morally and ethically irresponsible, while floating fear mongering and conspiracy theories, what's that say about CNN and MSNBC?

I believe the NSA collects data ("spies," if you will) on everyone. I do not believe it cares about Tucker's show.

This is probably true. I also don’t believe any whistleblower contacted him.

The NYT ran a story about him being a source for lefty media and talking **** about other FOX hosts. Some of the hosts have apparently been taking oblique shots at him on air since the story came out.

My guess is that he’s expecting more to come out and got out ahead of it by making it into a deep state conspiracy against him.

Crazy how these are all opinion shows leading the way. It's like telling people what they want to hear brings them back over and over.

Also: first among the MSM? I thought that was a bad thing.

Agreed. I think it speaks to the distrust people have in the traditional news, national moreso than local, to do unbiased reporting and journalism. More people are turning to networks where you are not going to get the mainstream spin because they think they are being lied to. I think Sunday night traditional shows still have a good audience.

I like was Harris Faulkner on FoxNews during the daytime on rare occasions I get to see her. There's probably a few more. I can't think of one journalist on CNN and MSNBC that I'd want to watch and I've given them all a chance at some point.

Guys I just want you to know that, (exhales) the NSA has been spying on me too. I have no evidence of this but rest assured the NSA IS spying on me, I know it. And if you say they’re not, then you’ve just outed yourself as a deep state operative hell bent on destroying me and my career.

Yep, you are correct.

Question here, what difference would that make? Foreign assets have been contacted in Russia many times before. Putin has been interviewed many times by American journalists, I imagine many more feelers have been put out there for interviews. Why would the NSA share his name and info with people outside of the agency? It appears that's what possibly happened. The implications are troubling.

CNN Continues to Struggle as Entire Lineup Fails to Crack One Million Viewers

'Don Lemon Tonight' managed only 635,000 to drag down CNN’s primetime average

Struggling CNN didn’t have a single program surpass the 1-million viewer plateau on Thursday.

"Anderson Cooper 360" came the closest, averaging 992,000, but the scandal-plagued "Cuomo Prime Time" lost 40,000 viewers and "Don Lemon Tonight" managed only 635,000 to drag down CNN’s primetime average.

CNN averaged only 719,000 viewers during the primetime hours of 8-11 p.m. ET, while Fox News averaged 2.08 million during the same time period. CNN has failed to reach more than 1 million total viewers on 16 different days from June 9 through July 8.

CNN struggled to attract viewers throughout the day, starting with "New Day" attracting an audience of merely 421,000. The liberal network failed to reach even 800,000 viewers until "Erin Burnett OutFront" managed 849,000 at 7 p.m. ET.

Meanwhile, every Fox News program from 7 a.m. ET through the conclusion of "Gutfeld!" at midnight ET averaged more than 1 million viewers. "Tucker Carlson Tonight" led the way, averaging 3.2 million viewers to outdraw all of CNN’s primetime programming combined.

Maybe Tucker and Fox have a built in advantage because their base doesn't have anything better to do than sit in the recliner and be told how to think every night.

You're right if it wasn't for fitness centers, restaurants, nursing homes amd bars then MSNBC and CNN ratings would be much worse.

I'm not sure why a thread about cable news bother people and get them offended. I get offended that they are offended.

The issue is that his audience never wants to look too deep. Or think too long about what he's saying.
