Absolutely! Read them in order. There’s a lot of character development throughout that stems from his history. And there are spin-off book series, some closely linked, others less so.

In the books, which started a pretty long time ago, Bosch was a Vietnam vet rather than Desert Storm or whatever it is in the TV series.
