TV, movies, music, Books and whatnot.

Watched Jagged Edge, been a long time since I last watched it. Good movie.

Always like watching movies set in San Francisco and figuring out where the scenes are shot.
Did you watch Monk when it was on? (or later) His parents watched it all the time, and when he was down in LA visiting them, they always made him watch with him to see where scenes were filmed.

As someone who has probably driven up and down every street in SF looking for parking, it's entirely possible that he had actually seen them all.

Yes, watched it when it was on, great show.

The car chase scene in Bullitt goes through my old neighborhood.

Probably around 2005 we were walking around North Beach and came across a movie shoot and saw Reese Witherspoon. Barely knew who she was at the time.

NorCal watches uppity movies and shows to figure out parts of San Francisco. I watch Moonshiners because the original group is filmed where my sister moved to and then my parents retired to. We are not the same

There was a Netflix documentary called Painkiller that talks about the opioid/OxyContin pandemic. One part focuses on Mayberry, aka Mount Airy, where I currently work. Really only shows a drone flying over downtown, but after being here three years, I feel like the documentary is spot on

Watch Body Brokers. Michael K. Williams (RIP) narrated this documentary about how rehab centers make their money. It is an eye opening piece.

She was 29 and had starred in Legally Blonde, LB2, Cruel Intentions, Sweet Home Alabama, and Election. She had a large female fan base, some nerd boys, and a few creepers. Yeah, we can believe you were “clueless” at the time…

Not interested in the new CBS show, Tracker, but a skydiving pal alerted me to a skydiving scene in episode 10. It’s formulaic pap, and the skydiving scene had three “yeah, right” moments. You would think that hiring actual skydivers to do the stunts would give the script writers every opportunity to be accurate… Maybe the Director pushed for the inaccuracies because s/he thought it “looked better.” 🙄

Tracker is a fantastic show. It's already been renewed for a 2nd season. It's based on a great book series by Jeffery Deaver.

you forgot Pleasantville

The documentary "Quiet on Set" detailing the abuse of child actors on Nickelodeon is a good watch. We are on episode 3.

Hacks (HBO/MAX) star, Jean Smart in character as Deborah Vance asked another character to bench press her. I’ve heard and read my words used by political candidates, journalists, and stand up comics. Now, my longstanding command, “bench press me” has been pilfered by the show runner for a hit TV show.

I can't say enough about the Fallout Series....best damn series i have seen in awhile. I had low hopes on any show based on a game being any good but this was done right and well. and Goggins hit his role out of the park. I have watched it, rewatched, and now watched several reaction videos to it.....love it. If ya haven't checked it out you need to, after all "A$$ jerky don't make itself. "

I don't even want to link a trailer because I do not want it spoiled. You want to watch this one blind if possible.

My very favorite TV series are usually documentaries. I just find history more fascinating then fiction. My very favorite series of all time was the Connection series from the late 70's..... Jame burke was fantastic. They have released a new Connections this year, and it's even still hosted by James Burke, he must be 90 something by now. I didn't think he was still alive. Still an absolute awesome series though, and more timely then ever as it touches on emerging technologies that arfe about to change EVERYTHING. The premise is to show how inventions and break throughs usually happen by accident and how you get say from a wooden toothpick to Artifical Intelligence etc....it is a very interesting way to put technology in perspective historically, and to understand the unprediuctability of how technology will grow or change society. The famous first or second episode they did was on the "technology trap" aka "The triggor Effect" . It was so well done, and is still as valid today as it was then. What could be a very dry and boring subject is made exceptionally interesting by Burke and them often acting out different humerous historical moments. I can't recommend this one enough. My only critique is it's pretty clear Burke is all in for the technocrat types. Me, not so much. Still he is a great story teller. This is a great thinking person's series.

So, Star Trek Discovery not on your watch list?
To be honest most of the new treks have dissappointed me. The only one I really liked was Deep Space Nine....it seemed more believable then all the Roddenberry hump fests for space collectivism. At least it acknowledged that economics would still be a thing. For that type of show "The Expanse" pretty much killed every Star Trek incarnation per my tastes.

This was the classic Episode of original Connections series from late 70's.... Still one of the single greatest moments in TV for me. I found it mind blowing as a kid...as a way to see the world.

DS9 is under appreciated still. The Expanse is very good.
