TV Shows - underrated vs. overrated

Most people I know hate Family Guy. I stopped finding it funny at about the age 17 because the jokes were terrible. "Do you remember the time?" followed by a flash back that has nothing to do with anything.

And Seinfeld, omg lol. Jerry Seinfeld's stand up is the worst I've ever seen. When I say the opening of the show and he's on stage, I can't handle it. Plus, again... it's more random stuff that's pointless. Toilet paper in the bathroom or hoisting a cake up through a window. Making beef jerky and hanging it all over the apartment.

I don't know, there is no plot to those shows. I agree you won't find many people that think Seinfeld is overrated. Though, that's what makes it overrated because everyone builds it up to be great and I can think of 20 comedies I'd rather watch. But family guy, I can show you a bunch of people that think it's stupid. Most people turned on it over time because it's not very good.

The great thing about Seinfeld was that it was practically about nothing. It would take little parts of everyday life and make a show out of it. Most found it funny because they could relate in some fashion.

True Blood is EXTREMELY overrated. The first season was great. It was believable. Then it was all downhill from there. Everyone is a fairy or a werewolf or a shapeshifter or a vampire or a wizard or some other random thing now. Shark officially jumped, time to pull the plug.

I don't know anybody that rates this show highly, and so I'm not sure you can say it's overrated. Maybe over-watched. I watch it, but I don't highly rate it.

The original Inbetweenera was excellent. Haven't watched the US version, but I'm sure its a shoddy knock-off

I agree with this statement. Until Hannibal started a little over a month ago. I had my reservations about it going in but it is very well done TV. Of course it might not make it past the first season because of low ratings.:)

Most people I've encountered that don't like Seinfeld just flat don't get the show. And I don't mean you're too dumb to get it. It's kind of like British comedy. it's just a brand of humor that escapes some people.

I had a really difficult time coming up with lists because it's hard for me to objectively view something as underrated if I don't actually like it. There are a lot of shows I really don't like one bit that I can't call overrated because they don't get undue acclaim, and shows I love that get just the right amount of praise. I probably could have done way better in that regard.

As for Justified, I think it is a very good show. Do I think that it's week-to-week the best drama on television like some critics seem to? Maybe even the best show on television period like I've heard regular viewers say? Nope.

I agree with burn notice. I disagree with Seinfeld and entourage. Ari has me rolling and the chicks are hot. A lot of good moments.

Some good stuff listed.

Agree on GOT
Shameless is excellent, imo
Hannibal seems to be a good one

In comedy I think Parks and Recreation is hilarious

It is hard to come up with lists like this one. IDK if I could do one myself.

As for Justified. It does seem to get a little undue attention. Maybe this is due to the latest Hollywood reality obsession with all things redneck(Duck Dynasty, Swamp People, etc.). I'm not sure.

As for the best show on television? Not a snowballs chance in hell, IMO.

GOT and BB are so much better that it is not even comparable.

But, Justified is still better than 95% of the crap that is on TV.

Most overrated show going has to be Duck Dynasty IMO. I just don't get what the attraction is to a bunch of hicks making fools of themselves.
