Two Midterm QBs expected to enroll

Means very little...

How about leading his team to a National Championship? How about completing 204-of-336 passes (61 percent) for 2,833 yards with 22 touchdowns and just five interceptions? That's just what he did through the air.

When the quarterback left Florida last January seeking to continue his college football career at a junior college, he wanted somewhere he could grow his passing skills.

He did that and more this season at Blinn College in Brenham, Texas.

"The thing that Cam's done all season is improve his passing game abilities, reading coverage and delivering the ball," said Blinn coach Brad Franchione. "That's what's impressed me the most about him. Every week I saw him improving his reading in our offensive system. He's gotten better. It's easy for a guy with his abilities to just set it on cruise control and just be a great athlete like he is, but I saw him improve and work hard to be a better passer."

Now Newton is once again a target of major college football recruiters. Oklahoma is among the leaders.

"That would be good for Oklahoma," Franchione said.

I agree Russel has a cannon of an arm but doesn't have the football smarts or dedication required to be a good NFL quarterback.

How could this be? Our own Lane Kiffin was RIGHT about a quarterback and Al Davis was WRONG?

Who's the idiot now, Al? Your franchise is a wreck.

I agree though, Russell does have the strongest arm in the league.

I know, but you gave me the perfect opportunity to post his stats. :)

How would he compare to Tony Robinson? Same type of guy, awesomely talented with very flawed character. Would it be worth the risk? I don't know, but dang he was fun to watch.:dunno:

I personally am not a big fan of Newton... yes very talentted, cannon of an arm, but i think in our offense intelligence, and work ethic are huge keys. I think he would fit a spread offense very well because of the dual-threat options he brings but in our offense which isnt a down the field passing attack, atleast not yet, i think Stephens will do just fine
