Two Midterm QBs expected to enroll

What has Cam done that Simms has not done????

Both were in trouble, and both went to Jucos, and neither will start next year wherever they go! What difference does it make? They both are a waste of talent!

Newton would easily start for MSU or K-State. I have my doubts about his ability to do the same at UT though.

I'm literally stunned. To me, Simms is an empty uniform. If it's him, one has to think he's 4th on the depth chart going into spring. He's got nothing going for him except a name.

Considering our lack of depth at QB the body in a uniform may be important. We needed at least one big land for the class and they did that with Bray. Everything else is just gravy while waiting on next year's big QB recruit. Obviously I would prefer a situation where multiple talented QBs are competing for the position but we have to take what we can get for the time being.

They say a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while.......good luck to you my brotha!

Newton is apparently only willing to sign somewhere where he can start...

I agree with everyone that Newton is talented, but looking at the track record of JUCO QBs, I honestly hope we never let one start at UT

MSU has that big kid...Relph, Rumph, whatever.....and a really good QB that redshirted this year. who knows about K-State? Neither will start at UT..you are correct..so who cares? UT has done ok with freshman QB's before ...if Stephens does not win the job.

Neither one excites me.

Why does everyone assume the only two choices are Simms and Newton.... there are other EE's you know!

What the hell does that mean? :hmm:

Neither one is that good. If newton had gone to any school in the country other than UF...no one would be thinking about him. That is a fact.

Sorry but that is simply untrue. He has the arm strength to make almost any NFL throw but isn't considered among the strongest arms in the NFL.

Ok back to the topic. Sorry to hijack.

I honestly don't know where you are coming up with that. He has tremendous arm strength. Is he Matt Stafford? Maybe not, but he's in the top 10. Go and look at any evaluation of Young. They all mention his arm strength. Heck, just watch any Titans game. His arm strength is obvious.

Here are some comments from Vince's pro day.
WHAT THE NFL SCOUTS HAD TO SAY ABOUT VINCE YOUNG:

"He's a great athlete. He's been working underneath the center, you can tell. That was really impressive, because he didn't do that too much in college. But he definitely did it very well right here.
He was very accurate, very strong-armed. He threw well on the move. He handles himself well, too. He has a blast in what he's doing. You could tell. That as very evident today."

Gary Kukiak- Head Coach
Houston Texans

"Young showed that he's got the arm and that's the big thing".

C .O. Brocato-Tennessee Titans
National Coordinator
of College Scouting

"I like what I saw -good footwork, good arm strength. The guy was impressive. It's a very valuable pick. We all want to make a good decision."

Bob McNair- Owner Houston Texans

"Vince Young is three-dimensional. He can beat you
running, he can beat you passing, and he's fearless.
He's fearless."

Jerry Rhome- Vince Young
Quarterback Coach/NFL

All I am saying here is that Cameron Newton has that kind of arm.

Hey! Those clip boards get heavy in the NFL. Russell's biceps are getting bigger by the day! His arm is only goning to get stronger!

Yes Russel is a sorry excuse for a QB. Garcia should have gotten the starting job in the beginning of the season.

Makes you think how amazing the talent drop off is in college that a guy like Russell can excel on talent alone.

Vince Young has ARM Strength...

Strongest Arm in the league is J. Russel.

I agree Russel has a cannon of an arm but doesn't have the football smarts or dedication required to be a good NFL quarterback.
