'20 TX QB Haynes King (TAMU Commit)

Maybe we will take a chance on a true DT guy. Find an athlete who plays QB, give him a chance to develop and if he doesn't, move him to somewhere he can still help.
I was just thinking that this may be a future trend with QBs transferring. You'll need to recruit athletes and put them where they can excel but keeping in mind they may end up being 4th on the depth chart at QB in case of disaster.

If we lose out on Haynes and JG goes Pro I think a name to watch is David Mills. Former 5star QB from Norcross, GA, currently at Stanford and likely won't play this year with Costello back. Pruitt was his lead recruiter at Bama and Chaney was his lead recruiter at UGA.
Maybe Chryst could put in a good word for us?

So many unknowns with JG, possibly even to him, they may feel the need to be prepared.
Add in the decision of who loses out on the back-up spot this year...
We are low depth wise at least when I look at our rivals' charts.

But honestly, I'm clueless.
you must have a lot of friends on this board for this to have gone untouched lol.

Also Kasim Hill. Former 4⭐️ QB Looking to get out of Maryland, and he was Rakim Jarretts HS QB for 2 years at SJC. Could see Pruitt pulling something like that if it meant a 5⭐️ WR. They might even give him a call before the season starts and let him sit, assuming King goes to A&M.

I think that’s the way the staff is already working. Bring Hill in to mentor Bailey and give Jarret another reason to come to Rocky Top. Also prepare to get yelled at for the thought of bringing in a veteran QB. Some people hate that for some bizarre reason.

I actually got in contact with Hill last week. He didn’t offer up a lot on the subject. Just stayed the course that various teams had been in contact with him. If Tennessee misses on King which seems likely I wouldn’t be surprised to see them make a run at Hill. Just my opinion

I admit I really wanted King, but never thought we would land him with Bailey in the class. It's so extremely rare to land 2 blue-chip QBs in one class these days.

Back in the 90s and even the early 00s, most of these QB prospects didn't even know each other. There was an interview with Brandon Stewart where he said he basically knew nothing about Peyton Manning, except that he was Archie's son, and had no idea he was even considering Tennessee before he committed. Now all the prospects know all the other prospects and it's a completely different environment. Tough to land 2 QBs in one class in 2019.
