'20 TX QB Haynes King (TAMU Commit)

It's wild, man. No other position do people ever complain about having too many studs. But for some reason people feel they need to "pick a side" and support only 1 QB on their favorite team. With it being the most important position on the field one would think that having many very good options is a good idea, especially when backups are 1 play away from moving up the line.

It's the nature of the position, you know that. Only one on the field means only one leader, the field general all must follow into battle, etc. That's why you see so many qb transfers and that was before the portal was a thing. We are short on qbs on the team right now so I see taking two as a good idea but I understand and am ready for the two-party bickering if we get King.

“Wiltfong on Haynes King: "Talked to a source regarding Haynes King that believes Tennessee is winning this recruitment in every department outside of distance from home. I've mentioned in the past if the Vols were closer to home I thought this would be done. Perhaps they win it anyway.”

Wiltfong
if Vandergiff can get over the distance issue and commit to OU, surely King can do the same, just headed the other direction lol.

good news is.. going forward it's one a year so the negs can chill

I agree. I'm guilty of it too but only if it's a grad transfer because I'm just against grad transfers. Haha

in regards to QB debates, it's one of my least favorite lol. i've already seen "team bailey" "team king" posts lol.
Ha.. I'm guilty of that.. 😂

I like both. Bailey's peer recruiting is one thing I truly like about him. In King's defense, the recruiting process and all is different for him being he is still uncertain.

UT will be great shape with both or either.. I want what is best for the program and these kids as well.

Let’s put this on the table for you guys.

1-HB isn’t immobile he is a 4.7 kid not a track kid so he hasn’t spent 100’s of hour learns to run a 40 yard dash. A.Glibert ran the same 40 time as HB. He plays in a Pro style offense in High School. No reason to have to run when you can simply shuffle up or to the side and drop a dime.

2- He played THE 7th toughest schedule in all of High school football last year per MaxPreps. While avg 330 yds per game and 4 tds. With his offensive line giving up an avg 45 pounds per contest.

3- Good chance his team wins state if he doesn’t break his collarbone in the first half of the 9th game of the season!

4- He has played some the toughest completion in America while averaging 300 yds a game and 63% comp percentage for his career.

5- Go to his game tape every team we play he has to throw passes into 6 to 8 man coverages. Every team has 1 game plan when they play Marietta it’s to stop the pass. Not many can! If you avg 35 points a game and the D gives up 40 it’s the QBs fault?

These empty comparisons of King, Manning and T.Lawrence are stupid. HBs stats ARE BETTER than T. Lawrence with HB playing way way tougher comp! Btw if HB plays 15 games this year and hits his avg he will miss T.Lawrance’s all-time passing record by around 800 to 900 yds while playing in 20 less games. So you say HB isn’t and elite passer. STATS don’t lie or have an opinion Sir!

Go to MaxPreps and do some research before you make stupid statements
Those are great points and some eye-popping stats
👀

As has been said- if the OL improves I think Bailey would be the better QB. Slightly. If the OL remains an unmitigated dumpster fire then King would be the better QB due to mobility.

It’s very close.

Bailey wins on the peer recruiting.

yeah, Bailey's feather in his cap is the early commitment and peer recruiting. he's gonna be super easy to root for, and he's really, really good at the whole quartebacking thing too.......

but i like what King brings to the table. physically, mentally, athletically....he's really, really good. HB has done nothing but continue to prove he's a great competitor and from what we know he competes at a very high level and compares favorably with just about anyone you put him up against.

the fact he goes out and wins MVP's at all these camps should tell you alot about his competitive make up. and recruits notice that too...........

this is a good problem to have.

So are we expecting his decision to come out today?
well, he's said he wants it done by Elite 11, which i think starts tomorrow...so if that timeline is still valid, yeah, today would be the day. but they're not talking much, and given the amount of time he's taking to mull this over, he may just decide push it til after....who knows. i know if i was having that much indecision, there's no harm in waiting. it's not like there's a dead line.

Took 24 hours off this board and god*amn y'all....how you could possibly find something to complain about here is beyond me. Just enjoy the fact that two elite QBs are this high on Tennessee. Past staffs had to practically beg QBs to come here. Take a step back and enjoy it
Well, Trevor Lawrence didn’t have to beg, since he didn’t fit the “infallible system.”

I wish more fans would see it this way, instead of looking for negatives to tear it apart.
