Why? Evans and UT never had any mutual interest. If he’s having cold feet it’s because he wants LSU or A&M. If he wants out then Kirby should let him out to a school outside the SEC or UGA’s schedule. Could also be ACT issues since he recently sat out of a playoff game to take the test. Maybe he didn’t get the necessary scores.Let's review HB's tweet.
If he sent in the NLI then it is “over”. The NLI is a legally binding document. If he sent it in and it was fully executed, it is over unless the school releases him from the NLI.Signed with UGA and then reached out to other schools..
It isn't over until the kid is on a campus fully enrolled
He said he knew where he wanted to go before the season started, but took officials to other schools just to be sure. He didnt mean he's taking officials after he signed. He's an EE.Exactly what I was thinking. The whole article is weird. He already signed, just has a lot of pressure on him, and wants to take official visits to be sure? But... you...already....signed...
I think with our 3 backs you almost take the multi QB class type of approach. bring in multiple guys and hope that one of them turns out to be a legit SEC back. Surely out of 3 in one class we can find one solid contributor in the backfield and make the other 2 switch to defense. Not very impressed with those guys at RB
Evans stated in multiple interviews he signed and I'm sure he let them know after initially signing, which is how it got out he signed. After he's signed there can be no contact regardless of who initiates it.Which is why I said Evans initiated the conversations after signing.. how could they know if they didn't receive an LOI?
UGA also doesn't play a&m, so unless Kirby is salty there's no reason to force him to stay. I don't know if he'll count against the class numbers since they already received his LOI.If you are UGA and already have a stable of 5 star backs, this kid really isn’t worth the risk/reward. The Aggies are really thin at that position now and that may be his landing spot.
Apparently that worked out for FSU and Thomas, but it seems like a massive locker room risk. If he costs UGA a spot in the class then I could maybe see it, but I'd rather wash my hands of it and be done. UGA won't play a&m unless both teams happen to make it to the SECC. If he wants LSU or Bama then I guess I'd make him burn the redshirt.Considering the twists and turns this kid's recruitment has taken, I'm not sure this is a fair assumption.
Either way, I'd tell him to either show up and straighten up or sit out a year and be someone else's headache.
