It seems to me that one of the things that attracts players to NPA is NPA has the connections to help a player get paid. Now players can just contact Spyre. Then I don't see the threat. They've never offered financial services as part of their package and I recall them presenting themselves as agents.
That's unfortunate, but I get it. We're still early in the process of establishing the culture that White and Heupel are trying to create... Finding the right fits is more important now than it will ever be. Once the program matures some I'd expect us to take more risks. Still laying the foundation right not though... seems wise.Ryan Callahan says we backed off on Zach because he wasn’t a good fit. Had an opportunity to host on him on official but after meeting with him elected to go another route.
Well said, we have to trust what they want to build here. IMO CJH built some equity this year and we have to trust they have a plan. That's unfortunate, but I get it. Unlike you, who I believe to be genuine…..I still think he’s FOS.He didn't engineer anything. He shared pics of the meeting as well as the pic that NPA later tweeted. Me getting overexcited about the potential chain effect is on me. Lesson learned. He did the same 3 years ago BEFORE the Chaney hire and I didn't utter a peep... so a newbie move in reverse. I trust De1. Nothing's changed on that front. I do understand how he chafes many the wrong way. I was the worst at giving him crap. He can take care of himself and doesn't need me to vouch for him...so I'll do it anyway. Go Vols.
Pretty in line with what LWS said earlier. Fit is more key than anything. Just cause a kid is a great talent doesn’t mean you want him in the locker room. We’ve had zero issues scoring points. I don’t think Zach is a bad kid but he’s looking for a pay day then gone. Not worth chancing jealousy and entitlement getting into the lockerroom.Ryan Callahan says we backed off on Zach because he wasn’t a good fit. I think it's very realistic we backed off Evans because he didn't fit the culture here. The way this staff preaches buy-in and details, Evans feels like another version of Tiyon, which currently has a sour taste.
