I appreciate the sentiment behind it, but I wasn't used. The guy shared some intel with me and didn't sell me on anything. I judged it on face value and am sticking with it being solid. I have no iron in the fire on the NIL stuff. I just saw who met with whom (coaches and player) and had a timeframe.Just going back thru this in my head, and instead of just saying what he wanted to say.. de1 used butchna in all of this.... pisses me off
Instead of posting what he knew, he told butchna to Holler at him on here. Then butchna comes back saying he's seen some evidence of some good news possibly late this week... 2 to 3 days ago. Unraveled well before then. But seems like he chose someone he perceived had clout to put forth this info for him, to shield him from who Knows what, to make it seem more believable maybe?I missed that... what happened with butchna?
Yeah, they're investigating lsu basketball too. But, seriously, there's no way to police it. The rule that's being broken is the schools involvement I the NIL. The boosters can give as much as they want ynder the guise of NIL.Which there is already some investigations on the handling of NIL by the NCAA

I'm not talking from an uniformed position. I've had discussions with folks about NIL deals. There's legitimate ones and there's the ones that are simply facades to funnel money to players to secure their commitment with no expectations of ROI. It's impossible to legally tell one from the other. Pandora's box is open. Things will never be the same.
He didn't engineer anything. He shared pics of the meeting as well as the pic that NPA later tweeted. Me getting overexcited about the potential chain effect is on me. Lesson learned. He did the same 3 years ago BEFORE the Chaney hire and I didn't utter a peep... so a newbie move in reverse. I trust De1. Nothing's changed on that front. I do understand how he chafes many the wrong way. I was the worst at giving him crap. He can take care of himself and doesn't need me to vouch for him...so I'll do it anyway. No official visit... coaches may have agreed to see Evans just to keep NPA in their good graces, knowing they are shady, probably secretly despise them
We'll have to disagree on that, I wouldn't want him anywhere near my kid. I think Buck is making a mistake with this hanger on and will ruin his reputation. He didn't engineer anything. Thanks... maybe de1 is throwing shade on Spyre because they pose a threat to NPA? Maybe he's afraid players will start going to Spyre for deals instead of going through NPA?Instead of posting what he knew, he told butchna to Holler at him on here. I don't believe Donde is the problem. The problem is with the boosters, or the lack thereof. Our mega boosters aren't invested in the program as much in the past. The Haslams are totally out. Big Jim is in his 90's and isn't in his best of health. Jimmy basically lives in Cleveland and is solely focused on the Browns. I thought Charlie Ergan might step up given that he has bought advertising and NIL is advertising so I could see that working but that doesn't seem to be coming into fruition. We don't have these boosters that other programs have now. We don't have boosters willing to just buy players under the guise of NIL as other programs are doing.I don't think we will ever recruit at a high level again until Donde is gone.
There was no official visit because the NIL offer was garbage. There was no need for a visit.Instead of posting what he knew, he told butchna to Holler at him on here. The reason Beverly lost her gig...was not because of that. They got rid of Bev because she stood up against the Haslams and would not let them outsource a ton of campus jobs. That would of resulted in letting go of a lot of workers and f***** them out of their retirement pension. That’s who makes that hire. Check the archives for those who make the bad hires. Cost Beverly her gig.
Yeah...I championed her for that. But the preceding mess of a search was on the AD and the AD hire was on her.The reason Beverly lost her gig...was not because of that.
