'19 TX WR Isaiah Neyor

We have plenty of talent and speed at WR. If Calloway can just improve his hands a little he will be quite a weapon. Dude can fly.

Agreed...that quick hitch that he housed against Pitt was a good example...by all reports he and Hyatt just need to emulate Tillman's work ethic/attitude and they'll be the next big stars in this offense

Ok… but other than WR, QB, RB, and DL did we really upgrade talent?

They added some solid OL in this class, I believe, though I recognize that they are not all 4* guys.

We desperately need LB and DB help, though. I won't deny that at all.

EDIT: Also need a proven pass rusher for next season.

He commits. Visits Ole Miss, visits TN then says he knows where he is going and seen all he needs to see and no more visits. 2 days later he is visiting TX this wknd instead of moving in and preparing for a Monday start. Obviously something is going on and it just shows signs of what you could be dealing with in locker room down the road when someone is all over the place every other day.
It’s the biggest decision in a kids life….. an actual commitment doesn’t happen until he shows up on campus or signs(HS)….. Kids are open to change their minds otherwise..Heck….. even coaches change their minds…… venson sneed for example

Some of our upgrades will be in younger players maturing….. it was a typical first year recruiting class for us…. Sounds like we are trending better in year 2 and hopefully our coaches are able to judge talent.

Was it a flashy exciting class? No, but it was the best class of a first year staff in the country other than Texas? Can’t ask for much more than that. Portal is a different animal and we don’t even know how much effort they are putting there based on limitations.

Sark is probably showing Neyor film of how he used DaVonta Smith at Bama.

Emphasizing that he knows how to scheme talent wide open, and focusing on gadget plays like 1:43 that look fun. He's probably telling Neyor that he can be Quinn Ewers #1 receiver in the offense over the next however many years and he'll get both of them to the 1st round, taking credit for Mac Jones and DaVonta Smith.

Then obviously location, being so close to home and playing for your homestate. Which, by the way, are the only facts that are certain in his pitch to go to Texas.

2022 Texas is not 2020 Alabama, so I hope that Neyor doesn't fall for whatever Sark is selling him.

According to Neyor, our pitch was that he was going to replace Payton. We also know how to scheme WRs open and I'd bet Heupel gets (or has) a high draft pick at QB.

Staff getting worked in recruiting. Sorry not sorry.

Unless there is regulation on NIL, we are likely
Going to be screwed in any recruitment for football
And basketball that comes down solely to NIL. We just are not going to go to the levels these others are going to and we are going to walk the line the way it was meant and get left behjnd

If we lose him I'm going to straight up worry about our future.

Inexcusable to not hit on ANYBODY
They're going after guys they want and apparently have a high bar. They could "hit" on someone if they lowered that bar... but why should they? They're taking a patient approach and seem to be asking themselves if the guys they can get out of the portal can help them more than guys they will have to move out if they take them.

They obviously want Neyor. But it was Neyor that took this public before being certain. How is that the fault of the coaches? They're recruiting what they apparently believe to be one of the best WR transfers in the country. You know you will have stiff competition when you do that.

Sark: "Hey...look what I did somewhere else with an O that was loaded at everyone spot....oh, don't worry about what I did here last year....that was just 1st year issues"

Heup: "Hey...look what I did here last year with whatever talent I inherited...my best WR was a 2* just like you...and oh yeah, he's back so defenses won't be able to focus on you...and our QB is back...honestly, why are you even thinking about the other UT"

It’s the staff’s flaw…they simply are not closers. This isn’t UCF.

Only closer is our d line coach. Our defensive coordinator is the most disappointing…if your scheme is meh and you can’t recruit, what value do you bring.
