I never said JJ was a terrific pro. He accomplished as much if not more in college with what he had to deal with as Hansborough has.
Most people don't hate him, just think he isn't an NBA prospect. I think he busts his ass at NC and I have to give him his due for that.Tyler is what he is - a solid, productive college player who will have trouble being successful in the pros. I can somewhat understand why so many people hate him since the media loves him so much, but I can't really fault the guy for the way he plays.

oh absolutely. With all those horrific flops of his, he's had to come down to hard on his posterior at some point and bust it up quite a bit.
The best thing about Floppy T is that thanks to him, UNC fans can never bring up the flopping issue with Duke. Duke gets some calls, but no Dukie has ever gotten the whistle easier than Floppy T.
I don't like Duke for the same reason I do not like ND.
I'll say he's an effective NBA player and I was wrong about him. I'm really not very concerned about that becoming reality, however. So I have a hypothetical for you all...
Since you all ignore Hansbrough's actual production(20 and 10) and find other reasons that he's not really that good of a player(dearth of big men, officials, etc.)...what happens if he gets to the NBA and actually performs well?
It seems to me that the biggest argument for those of you who hate Hansbrough is that he isn't NBA material...which is beyond me considering that 1.) what does that have to do with him as a COLLEGE bball player and 2.) the NBA..or at least watching it...sucks
So just assume that he gets to the NBA as is actually effective...what will you all say about him then?

The problem you're skipping is that he's being made out to be an all time great. He clearly isn't. He doesn't belong in the same room with Phil Ford. Quirky draft issues have led to him being a good college center, nothing else.
I agree that he's nowhere hear one of the greatest ever...but it's hard for me to believe that a guy who averages 20 and 10 can't find some level of success in a league as watered down and sloppy as what I've witnessed from the NBA recently
hell, the league is littered with stories of smallish big men who can't compete at the next level. It's tough to be a 6'8 guy with limited range and athletic ability in the NBA.I agree that he's nowhere hear one of the greatest ever...but it's hard for me to believe that a guy who averages 20 and 10 can't find some level of success in a league as watered down and sloppy as what I've witnessed from the NBA recently
What will you say when he gets to the NBA and rides the bench? His technique is one I dont ever see matching up in the NBA. Look at the NBA mock drafts, there is a reason why he isn't in the top 10 mock drafts. You would think such a good player in college would be a higher pick. Is it maybe they see something he lacks, or is a concern?
