Given the choice, I'm sure he'd rather not have a show cause on his resume. Just my opinion.

I think you are probably right. Duane Casey was a bright, up and coming young coach and then he got the show cause on his resume. Look how it destroyed his career.

I didn't say anything about the effects on his career one way or another, I just assume Tyndall (and Casey for that matter), given the choice, would rather not have a show cause on his record.

I don't remember exactly, but I seem to recall Casey filing a lawsuit and eventually getting his show cause rescinded by the NCAA. Obviously, things have worked out for him in the long run.

I am a huge fan of fulmer but also saw the decline. My post shouldn't be taken as disrespect toward him at all

I'm a big fan of Coach Fulmer too, isn't he the 3rd winningest coach in Vols history ? Neyland has to be first

Neyland did have 173 wins, just think,if they hadn't of fired him,he would have passed the General in a few years

<<<<< then the one with the most championships,my favorite basket ball coach of all time

CPF was 11-3 vs bama ! (someone correct if wrong)

And if you let me have a few beers tonight I will fight anybody that says one disparaging word about fulmer but.....

I do think it was time for him to go. Hamilton just screwed up the replacement

CPF was just a good recruiting class or two away from kicking some SEC butt again and if I remember rightly he was on some good recruits

and and a good Offensive Coordinator, the Clawfense was terrible, wasn't Debord being looked at for that job too ?

The last 6 years would have been better with fulmer but starting this year we are better off

It shouldn't have taken that long I understand

and then again,CPF may have went back to the promised land, wished my crystal ball would tell me these things

instead of tape the leak up :)

"The NCAA will charge former Southern Miss basketball coach Donnie Tyndall with multiple rules violations, including improper financial aid, academic misconduct and lack of control, ESPN's Andy Katz reports."

The uber-hypocritical ncaa itself is guilty of at least two of those offenses.

I understand it's not popular now but I saw the same similarities Between butch jones, pearl, and Tyndall.

Self made coaches from nothing that had never done anything but win as mid major coaches.

I am happy with Barnes since we had to hire a new coach. Gives us instant credibility. But I agree that Donnie was a good coach. He had to get over the recruiting hump, but the NCAA cloud hurt that. He actually recruited 2 players that Barnes decided to keep.

We all loved Bruce, and Donnie was cut from a similar cloth as Bruce. Some may not want to admit that.

The only comparison that matters now is the show cause length between the two...what Tyndall is accused of is much worse than what Pearl was accused of in terms of the actual broken rules as well as the quantity. Pearl got a three year show cause, because he lied, otherwise it was a minor violation. These are major violations AND he deleted the e-mails... it will be interesting to see what Tyndall gets.

Do y'all feel better going into 2015-2016 with Rick Barnes as Head Coach than you did with Donnie Tyndall going into 2014-2015? I feel better with Barnes myself,i think he'll do good things at Tennessee. Rick Barnes is a good recruiter also which will be an improvement.

We needed to stop the bleeding...couldn't find anyone better in that aspect. I think the change energizes him and he surprises everybody who thinks he's a stopgap. We're in good hands.
