Tyndall to be Charged with Multiple Violations

No

If Tyndall had been clean then our program was about to take off IMO.

Tyndall was on the rise(until he pissed it all away)

And I think Barnes is well on his decline. I think we hired the basketball version of Phillip fulmer

Oh damn

Time heals all wounds.
Donnie will be back in the saddle sooner than some folks expect and all this hubbub will be forgotten. History has taught us that good coaches don't stay unemployed indefinitely, especially if their only transgressions are a few violations of the arcane ncaa rule book. Look at the coaches who have done worse than what Donnie apparently did at Southern Miss and got off scot free.

College wise? Five years is not "sooner than some folks expect"...hope he catches on with a professional outfit...for his family's sake. :hi:

Good luck with that.

1. Have you read the NOA?

2. Name some coaches that have done worse things than this and are still head coaches at the college level.

Do y'all feel better going into 2015-2016 with Rick Barnes as Head Coach than you did with Donnie Tyndall going into 2014-2015? I feel better with Barnes myself,i think he'll do good things at Tennessee. Rick Barnes is a good recruiter also which will be an improvement.

I would rather Barnes were still in Austin...Mack Brown too. :)

Two words: Haith Frank
Not necessarily in that order.

Besides that, remember the naysayers on this very site who were convinced Bruce would never coach again. We all know how that turned out.

There is a big deal difference between Pearl, Haith and Tyndall.

He'll be lucky if he doesn't get double what Pearl got.

Sure some idiot AD may roll the dice 6-10 years from now, bet it won't be d1 though.

Yeah because there were so many posters saying Pearl would never coach again. I remember a grand total of zero; you seem to confusing with those that said Pearl would never coach at Tennessee again.

I swear when they hired Tyndall, they hired him as a fall guy until a better option came available. I mean, right? I can't for the life of me figure out how he wasn't flagged with his history.

Nope.
I specifically remember at least one poster asserting that Bruce would never be allowed to coach ncaa basketball again mostly because there was no precedent for a coach with a "show cause" banishment ever returning to coach big time basketball. I'd post the IDs if I could remember who it was exactly.

Pearl getting a 5 year show cause was ridiculous considering his offense, but it was "justified" due to his initial lies to investigators. Tyndall had serious offensES AND lied AND attempted to cover it up. Universities will have to consider that in about 10 years before giving him another chance. :pinch:

There was one or two in particular who swore up and down that Pearl would never be allowed to coach in the SEC again.

Wow, one whole poster? So one poster equals "all the naysayers"?

For a BBQ.

No, because he lied about the BBQ. He told his assistants to lie. He tried to influence the Craft's testimony. That's why he got the 3 year show cause...Had he just looked at the picture and said, " hey, you got me"...He'd likely still be here, it was a minor violation.

Tyndall did the same things except there are major violations involved, same as at Morehead State I might add, that's why he will get hammered and deservedly so.

The indiscretion was a BBQ... Lying about it got Pearl the show cause. What I said earlier. Tyndall lied about much worse.
