Tyrann Mathieu

Here's the hit. It was clearly a hold and not a forearm to the head. Kirkpatrick got the concussion when he hit the ground. Skip to the 1:45 mark and its clear as day.

TM7 Holding (Full Version) - YouTube

Lol, look at the comments under the video. So much butt hurt it isn't even funny. I really don't understand all the outrage about this play. If people want to start a crusade to eject players for holding, then there will be very few productive offensive drives.

I see no hold, he clearly hit him in the shoulder, he hit him. If you thought he held then there is no way it could be a PF. Not a PF and not a hold.

Actually the one in the Sanford games was just down right wrong, cost Oregon St. 7 points.

Why would he spin around backwards if he just got clubbed in the shoulder?

Mathieu's hand was on him from when he first hit him, through when Kirkpatrick stumbled and spun, and released when he started falling. If you hit someone on the shoulder your hand doesn't stay there. And it looked like it was wrapped around the end of his shoulder pads near the end.

He hit him, he spun and fell. Either way I am fine with it but it was not a dirty play.

BTW Peterson won another game for the cardinals last night... they would have zero wins without him. One more TD and he ties the single record for punt returns for Tds in a season.

He clearly had his hand wrapped around his shoulder.

I don't think it should have been a personal foul.

If you hit someone in the shoulder your arm bounces off. It doesn't spin them around and it definitely doesn't stay there until they spin, take a step or two and start falling.

And I'm not sure how better to get this through your head, but when you're comparing the best DBs, punt returns don't matter even a little bit. Berry didn't make the Pro Bowl as a returner, and Peterson was easily one of the worst CBs in the NFL over the first two months of the season. You're not going to see me comparing Devin Hester to Calvin Johnson just because he wins some games for the Bears.

Mathieu is just a dirty player... I think he is talented, but he runs his mouth too much, and when he gets beat he pulls ****e like that.
