No, never thought Gruden would be the coach, just thought we could get a better coach with more experience than 3 years. We will see how it plays out. You new people are funny. If someone doesn't agree with you, your become idiots.

Charlie Strong would be a fantastic hire for UT. He knows the SEC and knows what kind of player it takes to win in the SEC. IMO, he will immediately make UT relevant and given the same 3 years Dooley was allowed he will have UT competing for the SEC East on a yearly basis. He's young, and as has been mentioned he has 2 NC rings as DC at Florida. He's a defensive coach. I think he is a MUCH better hire than glamor boy Gruden. Fedora and Patterson are the other two that would be a great hire, but of all available coaches, I would go after Charlie Strong with every available resource.

I've lived in Tennessee for over 50 years and I'm a graduate of UT (1980). I sincerely would like to see UT make a good hire for my alma mater and for the great state of Tennessee.

While most Bammers hate UT, no all of us do.

even bringing it up is just weird...... I'm over 50 and its a NON-Factor..for me. I'm not BOLD enough to say if its a factor for High School Kids. I can only HOPE that it isn't..............

Geez ... strong words. I graduated from Alabama in 1976 before I went to UT. I have other connections to the U of A. My forum name is the same name I use on all football forums: S Cal, Texas, and Notre Dame.
