Can you tell me where us citizens willingly went to a shithole, were captured then we started a war with their local gangs? Just trying to remember what episode you're referring to

Idk what it would change...but it would take time for another cartel to take over...wipe out enough of them and you can make a dent..at least for a lil while unless we were willing to go all out against them.

Since the 80s we’ve wiped out several Mexican cartels, someone always steps up to take their place.

It's whack-a-mole, take one cartel or it's leader down another pops up, we can't kill or imprison our way to a fix.
not without a completely unnecessary loss of life.

we may end up launching some revenge attack that kills a couple guys and the pols with preen themselves on their success while nothing changes on the ground.

I just assumed if we can run a missle up Isis ass and infiltrate a cave over 1000 miles away that maybe we can handle a cartel 100 miles away from the border..
we haven't been able to make a dent in the 40 years we have been trying with the war on drugs.

Of course. I’m sure the Mexican government is already talking to the head narco in the area arranging the sacrificial lambs.

countries? these were cartels. who obviously dont give an F about our government.
Maybe pressure on the Mexican government would help if curtail some of it.... But until we stop doing business with the cartels it's pontless

again 40 years of the war on drugs hasn't changed anything. i am sure we have been applying constant pressure.

i am sorry but this seems like a reactionary response to "just do something" even if we know its not going to be effective.

Except you advocated for bombing not for trading.

These people went willingly. Why should the US govt kill people in retaliation for their dumb choices?
I agree with you on the last part...100%.... As for the trading vs bombing...idk what assets there are to trade with a cartel and as you said we fund

2 ideas:
1. Prohibit any money being sent to Mexico from America until they get their corrupt shinola hole in order. If they can protect tourist resorts they can protect other areas.

That's never going to happen. Lots of U.S. companies, including car manufacturers, have huge manufacturing operations in Mexico.

By whom? They voluntarily traveled into a war zone which seems like a bad choice
No no... America must save face and not allow this aggression to go unchecked. You just can't have Americans being killed and kidnapped.

So why focus on her? We couldn't even compile a list of all the people that get special treatment by the government, there are so many. Why are you still losing your **** about her months after the fact? I've got a pretty good guess.

2. Allow "unapproved" procedures on Indian reservations in America which negates the need to travel outside the US.
1. So you want to place sanctions on Mexico? LOL... OK. Let's see how that works out if they decide to countersanction.
2. I'm afraid to ask where you are going with this 2nd idea. Turn reservations into Las Vegas/Amsterdam?
