the easiest things were the propulsion system and the circuitry on a hyper advanced alien craft?
I would assume the material sciences, like any new compounds, alloys, fuels, but also physical structures, bonding processes.
then I would assume any mechanical systems, even in the digital age you still have to "engineer" those materials into useful forms and they have to have the ability to move. something from one place into another.
I could see circuity coming after that. but that should come with any number of other advancements that comes from understanding how their technology works. communication devices, detection devices, internal wiring or wireless systems. you would also probably have some advanced type of crew/ship interaction especially if they were traveling near light speed.
propulsion would come pretty much near the end except for any shields/warp technology, the type of things truly outside our understanding of science.
we haven't seen any of that. or at the very least if we have the entire world is in on the bit too.
Sound logic as usual.
Honestly, if we have recovered alien craft, as a good chunk of folks say we have, it may be so far beyond our current tech and understanding of science/the universe around us that even the best and brightest among us cannot fathom why or how it functions. Like if your dog looks under the hood of your car. Your dog doesnt even know what a hood is...or that theres a latch both inside and outside your vehicle that have to be used before the hood can even open. He doesnt know what a latch is, either. He doesnt have fingers to push the button inside, or unlatch the hood before he raises it...BUT if somehow by sheer luck and time spent he does eventually get the hood popped open on your car...eventually. Then what? He doesn't have any idea what the Hell he is looking at in the engine bay. Doesnt even know what the different parts ARE. Much less what they actually DO. (Most people dont either btw) Most of whats under the hood these days is covered by plastic panels too...such that you cant even see much of whats under the hood without having the correct tools to remove the plastic panels first...and remember we are a dog. Reverse engineering? It will be a miracle if we get these plastic panels off this century.
Forget about starting to remove parts from the engine etc in hopes of seeing how and what they actually do. Forget about ever having the correct tools, materials or capability to produce them. Forget about ever learning to "code" or program all of the many parts of this vehicle that are controlled by computers. Forget about the fact that there are thousands of different parts and fasteners in this amazing machine known as a car...and that installing just 1 of them wrong, or blowing a fuse we have no way to replace, or making a hundred other mistakes along the way will render this vehicle dead and it will never start again without help from a real mechanic. Forget about any of those myriad pitfalls...we are a dog. We are hungry and its getting close to nap time again. This car isn't ever gonna give up its amazing technology to a dog, and we wouldn't understand it even if a mechanic stopped by to try. Lmao. So this alien craft that likely approaches the speed of light when used correctly might as well be a boulder or giant paper weight.
