U.S. Navy Not Fit For War

She wasn’t “unqualified” for the job, but there was no way in hell she was “more qualified” than Paparo. Which is why everyone at the Pentagon rightly expected it to be him.

I'm a member of a couple of Chief facebook pages. I don't think I've read a bad thing about Franchetti and most people have posted in support of her actually. Did she get the "final nod" because she's a female? Maybe. That definitely didn't make her a bad choice though.

I don't have strong feelings either way because that appointment will never not be political. She's had a great career and will still do great things after this I'm sure.

She’s got a good resume. She was not unqualified (like I already stated). She did have a long career to be proud of.

None of it was better than Paparo’s.

It’s a political appointment. She was clearly appointed for political reasons. She was clearly fired for political reasons.

Great resource. I had come across the site, but never explored it.

Here’s the Reagan. Beautiful. Haven’t seen a pictorial this stirring since the Tweed Sisters did their cover shoot.

I used to build ship models as kid.l had this aircrft carrier with moving elevators and like 40 little F-4s..also had an old destroyer that had a battery powered motor in it and prop shaft was sealed with Vaseline..took it to the Golf club pool for couple cruises..

my uncle was a Chief Petty Officer in navy, and his son always had ships, so I got into them

Now I wanna play again..lol

Long-time U.S. Navy Veteran and former Republican congressional candidate Hung Cao was nominated by President Donald Trump to serve as the Undersecretary of the Navy, Trump announced on Truth Social late Thursday.

Cao, who served in the Navy for 25 years after he fled communist Vietnam in 1975 just before the Fall of Saigon, would be the second-highest civilian official in the Navy if confirmed by the U.S. Senate. He also served in various government roles throughout his career, including stints at the Pentagon, Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Joint Terrorism Task Force.

Cao will report to the Secretary of the Navy-designate John Phelan, who is awaiting Senate confirmation.
