U.S. Navy Not Fit For War

Navy Intercepts Houthi Barrage of Missiles, Drones Launched At Three US Warships in the Red Sea

The US Navy intercepted a barrage of Houthi missiles and drones launched at three of its warships in the Red Sea on Thursday, two US defense officials said.

The attack was one of the largest yet on US warships in the Middle East, one of the officials told CNN.

The barrage was launched at the USS Spruance and USS Stockdale — both guided missile destroyers — and the USS Indianapolis, a littoral combat ship, as they traveled north of the Bab el-Mandeb strait.

‘Not The People We Need’: GOP Senate Candidate, Former Navy Captain Nukes Navy For Drag Queen Recruitment Videos

GOP Virginia Senate candidate Hung Cao, a former Naval Captain, lambasted the Navy during a Wednesday debate for using drag queens in a recruitment video.

“When you’re using a drag queen to recruit for the Navy, that’s not the people we need. What we need is alpha males and alpha females who are going to rip out their own guts, eat them and ask for seconds. Those are young men and women that are gonna win wars,” Cao said.

Perhaps Boeing should move into ship building. They don't do well producing things that fly. Maybe they'll do better with things that float.

Tuberville: US Military ‘couldn’t beat anybody right now’

Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.) said Monday that the U.S. military could not defeat any country in battle right now and called the armed services a “disaster.”

“We need to build our military up,” Tuberville told Fox News’s Laura Ingraham. “Our military right now, Laura, is a disaster. Absolute disaster. We couldn’t beat anybody right now.”

“We’ve got some good people in the military. But the structure of it, the things that we’ve done, the Democrats have destroyed it,” he added during his “The Ingraham Angle” appearance.

Nuclear armed Cruise Missiles fired from Virginia boats -

Submarines with nuclear warheads are the "tip of the spear" portion of the 3 pronged "nuclear deterrent". The fact that they can loiter right off the coast of any country/continent gives us quick strike capability that guarantees mutually assured destruction better than ICBMs, and far better than bombers. They are very important in maintaining peace through overwhelming strength. A single submarine carrying 30 Trident cruise missiles with nuclear warheads can destroy every major city in China or Russia. This makes Americans and America safe. China can "rattle sabres" all they want, and Putin can justifiably threaten the US because Bidens idiot admin allowed Ukraine to attack deep inside Russia with our ATACMS cruise missiles...but in the end all those words are hollow because beneath the waves lie enough weapons to completely destroy their nations in about a half hour. Hopefully we never see nuclear weapons used to kill humans again. Since the possibility exists though, we have to make sure the rest of the world will never use them against us. Submarines are currently the best defense against that threat. They are very important.

Yea but that’s not new, and not what the article is discussing.

You’re referring to “boomers” - Ohio class strategic submarines that loiter with a load out of (yes) Trident II ballistic missiles.

Yes, they represent the most durable leg of the nuclear triad that US Strategic Command has maintained continuously since the 1950’s.

This is fast-attack boats (Virginia Class) with nuclear tipped “cruise” missiles. Smaller warheads, on a different delivery vehicle, for “tactical” strike.

This is a hell of a development.

I agree 100%. Didn't realize the difference here, thanks. I have never seen the "value" in what we now call "tactical nukes" which to my understanding have as much or more megatons of destructive power than the 2 we dropped on Japan. They are just much smaller now and can be put on missiles, and are only a fraction as destructive as the most powerful warheads we have developed since WW2. I just dont see the logic in "kinda" nuking another country. Where would we use a "tactical" nuclear weapon? Iran maybe? Certainly not N.Korea, pretty sure us using any type of nuclear warhead on China's next door neighbor would spark WW3. I dont see any conditions that could justify the horrors of unleashing nuclear radiation and fallout that would inevitably harm civilians and neighbors unless we are in a doomsday WW3 scenario and fighting for our survival as a nation. Perhaps a tactical nuke that is optimised for EMP damage makes sense...detonated ~50 miles above sealevel which would knock a country back to say 1900 or so rendering them incapable of attacking us for a while. I don't know that submarine based cruise missiles can even achieve those altitudes though? Cruise missiles generally speaking fly at low altitudes and very high speed in order to have the best survival rates vs SAM systems right? Defintely not the best vehicles to deliver an EMP. Strange what we are doing here, seems like lots of risk with little to no reward to me...

Will Musk Kill The F-35 In The Name Of Government Efficiency?

The fifth-generation, stealthy, multirole fighter jet, a product of the most expensive weapons program in Defense Department history, is often referred to as the “Swiss Army knife” of combat aircraft because it comes in a traditional Air Force model, a Navy version that can land on an aircraft carrier, and a Marine variant capable of taking off and landing like a helicopter.

But where the Pentagon sees versatility, Musk sees vulnerability — and obsolescence.

'Navy's best recruiter' Tom Cruise Awarded Top Civilian Honor - and not everyone is happy about it

Online critics are slamming the US Navy's decision to award Tom Cruise the highest honor a civilian can receive - with many calling the achievement a 'joke.'

The movie star, 62, was given the US Navy Distinguished Public Service Award by US Secretary of the Navy Carlos Del Toro.

He was credited with promoting Naval service throughout his career, specifically by starring in the Top Gun movie franchise.
