UConn vs Georgia Tech

Nan wasn't reporting that the players were sobbing. She assumed they were in the discussion about should the players do the presser or not (I think that it's a disservice not to...seems like being a poor loser). I don't think there's any news saying that the players didn't do the interview because they were "sobbing"

Nan gave this response to a BY poster:

"If you think forcing two sobbing players to face a room full of reporters makes them better people or players, then I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree."

Now, it's unclear whether she was just speculating on the players' reactions or was privy to inside information. But, as I said earlier, she did use the word "sobbing" for whatever reason.

My guess is for dramatic effect.

Seriously, if any of their players were sobbing after losing a meaningless OOC game in December while short 4 players (including their star), they should probably just quit now.

Remember, that loss ended a longtime streak of not losing to an unranked team. I would venture to guess that Evina may have been particularly upset to find herself experiencing THAT type of nightmare again. So I'm cutting the players some extra slack for crying after a streak-ending loss, and probably some extra tears fell in there as some may not until yesterday fully understood how difficult it will be without Bueckers.

All that said, at least one player on that team should have marched her wet-eyed, red-eyed, red-faced self into that post-game interview. Today that person could have been in a strong position to lead.

Amb, last night was horrible. The way she ran the team was exactly what she did at UT. The ball was stuck in her hands 75% of the time. She’d pass only if she didn’t have the shot herself and she caused a lot of their turnovers making bad passes to their bigs.

Those TOs get recorded to the big after they bobble the ball but she’s the one creating those turnovers. Did that all the time at UT and it was maddening. She acts like it’s the other players fault too.

EW does not have takeover ability. She’s slow and not actually that athletic. She’s a crafty guard with a great passing skill set but she has a low BBall IQ and a bad knee. She’s back to coming up short on her shot again the last few games leading me to believe her knee is bothering her again. When she’s getting lift on her shot she’s a really good shooter now but she’s not at the moment.

Westbrook will not have a pro career. She’ll be drafted and will play overseas, but mark my words, she’ll never play a game in the W. Doesn’t have the stuff.
I think she will get one year two max but yes I totally agree she will not have a lengthy wnba career . Christyn Williams will imo.

If UConn loses tomorrow, it will be the first time they will have lost 2 games in a row since 1993. As you know pressure starts to build when streaks are broken.

She is capable of good games and bad games still inconsistent in her play. Bueckers seems to be steady always giving a performance that is consistent every game. EW good and bad.

Fans here like to pile-on EW, but she would have been such a great player if not for her injuries. Now she's just a shell of what she could have been (and she's still a "good" player). I fear Fudd's career might be heading in the same trajectory...

Obviously they are unaccustomed to losing. Unfortunately, it appears they missed the training class on respect and losing with class. Regardless, it’s done and there is no going back. Terrible look for them,
No, they are learning from their coach, he’s the master at it.

So much for their captain....
