UEFA Euro 2020 (June 11 2021-July 11 2021)

good game overall. germany looked a lot better than last time out. granted, portugal struggled defending for a decent amount of the game (and had two own goals)

this result and the france draw against hungary make the group of death super interesting going into the last match

Every team still has a chance for the last 16, even Hungary.

Loved seeing the atmosphere of a full crowd in Budapest this morning. UEFA should move the semis and final to that venue. With the UK government having extended their restrictions beyond the end of the tournament, and England very unlikely to make it to the final, the move makes a ton of sense. EU residents of the involved nations would be free to travel to Budapest, but won’t be allowed into the UK. I get that Wembley is probably the premier venue under normal circumstances, but there’s no point in staging the games there if no more than half capacity is allowed.

This makes sense

A win for either Switzerland and Turkey are crucial if they want to claim a spot in the knockout stages.
With Ro16 secured for Italy, a draw would be sufficient for them to top the group.

Wow, with the Swiss already up 2-0 on Turkey, looks like Wales has to tie Italy or go to some confusing GA or GS tie-breaker

Piangi bambino ... that might be Italian for cry-baby.

I tried to look up sissy, but it gave me feminuccia, an apparent cognate of feminine, and with some of the toughest athletes I ever saw being women (my daughter), I am not using this one.

Apparently, Wales were up 5 in goal differential on the Swiss, when their matches began, now it's 2 and Wales are playing 10 against 11
