I can assure you that Orgeron will be fighting to keep that job and that team will be playing for something.
Imagine this scenario. TENN wins out and finishes with one loss. Ala loses only to TENN. Florida doesn't play LSU and wins SEC East with better % than UT. Ala or Fl wins the SECcg. In this scenario TENN doesn't have to play the extra game, has beaten either champ, and finishes with an 11-1 record, the same as Ala or Fl. UT should make the playoffs without the extra game.
And if Fl does lose another conference game, not playing LSU will not matter to the VOLS. They're in ATL

The fact that Florida doesn't like is just a plusThis is what I figured that would have to happen. I bet Florida doesn't like it at all though having to play them away now instead of at home.
They could have easily resolved this by playing on either Sunday night or Monday night of this week. Florida should take the blame quite a bit on this one.
"The SEC commissionerÂ’s regulations requires each football team play all eight conference games in a season in order to be eligible to compete for a divisional title and play in the SEC Championship Game," the statement said. "Had the game not been rescheduled, Florida and LSU would have been ineligible to compete for the SEC title this season."
There is a bit of incentive to gitrdun
That isn't the literal text. I have the rules downloaded to my computer. I would guess that was the hammer brought to bear to force this. And one could easily argue that is the intent of the rules too.
You probably have SEC bylaws downloaded but the Commissioner regulations are a different document and I couldn't find it. Trust me on this, they are different - I looked

Link me please? I'd like to save them for future use
From a Florida point of view, what sucks is that they now have lost 3 home games on the schedule in 3 years.
However, win or lose (and Florida can win the game), the cool part is having LSU be a home game in 2017 and 2018 when Florida may have a better football team.
As I have said numerous times here in the last week, this Florida team isn't going anywhere so all of this is much ado about nothing.
