UFC Thread

How often is a UFC fight night on cable like it was last night versus ppv? I've always enjoyed UFC but never got into it because of the cost of ppv. Can it be followed closely without ordering ppv? How often is it on TV? Re-runs?

I think two rule changes will solve the problem.
1) when grappling the guy who has guard (bottom) is winning. This would force the wrestlers who can't fight to pass. Instead of lay and pray.
2) break the fighters on the fence.
Nobody should get an advantage for the fence.

Just adopt the Pride stalling rule, start taking 10% of their purse for every warning given for stalling. Dana always ******* about guys not fighting, so I don't get way he hasn't doesn't this. Also stop rewarding points for just a takedown, no damage=no points.

On average about once a month. Title fights are generally on PPV, save a few that come on Fox. They show re-runs on FS1 some, more so on FS2 though. They show specials like Ultimate Knockouts, old classics, fighter profiles, replays of recent cards, etc. AxisTV has a show called InsideMMA every friday at 9EST. They also show fighting in other organizations Friday's at 10EST.

I usually post a few days in advance before a card. Also even if it's PPV you can still catch the prelims on FS1. Hope that helps.

And I always post links to stream the ppv for free.

It really depends for me. How much of it is technical and how much of it is stalling is what determines if I like or not.

Again, if the judges rule the guy with guard is winning the wrestlers would have to pass instead of laying there. Attempting to pass opens up opportunity for the guy with guard.

All in all it would end the boring lay-n-pray strategy

IMO Jmo tifwiw wtf stfu

Actual true MMA knowledgeable judges would certainly help too.

This x1000.

It seems like they should change up how takedowns are scored. The deciding factor in a round shouldn't be a take-down when there was no damage and the guy gets to his feet in just seconds. Seems silly.

I also think ring control is a little over-valued. Some guys are counter-punchers and they want you moving towards them - it's a good offensive game plan. But if it's a defensive game plan, and you're just running away, that's a completely different matter. That should be heavily considered, but in the case of the counter-striker, it shouldn't factor much at all.
